This is in memory of our two favorite customers of China Buffet. Gene and his wife Betty. I cannot help but weeps for his departure with us when I learned about this today. His family came and return these two sweet sculptures of an old man and an old lady that we gave them as a gift years ago and told us about their departure. I can't help but feel, very very emotional as I am writing about this on our page. We love them so...much... they had such kind souls and were such a sweet old couple. They had been eating in China Buffet for decades! Even when we were slow and down, the dining room was empty, we'd see him showed up to see us...even when it snowed bad and no one wanted to get out, he'd drove to see us and be the very few ones in the dining room... even when his health deteriorated in later years, he came to see us and we never heard a word of him complaining about anything--even when there was a huge sore on his head for many years, and he had endured surgeries after surgeries...he still kept his happy smile, and enjoyed every meal-- although the portion he ate got smaller and smaller over the years...and eventually, he was only able to do soup. But he still comes almost everyday or as much as he could to do that and enjoyed and get satisfied every time...what a happy soul!! Oh we love to see him so much! he had such kind soul and we were feeling happy just to have his company in our store! He probably didn't know that but he often secretly did that in his way! Betty was a quiet lady and super supportive of her husband's craving, even when he was not supposed to go out, she'd still drove him here, let him eat what he liked, and drove him back. And I admired every time for their wonderful marriage! it's just sad to hear she passed just four month (updated**) after he passed. But also relieved to know that they now be together.

I know Gene and Betty lived a long, good and wonderful life, and must had no regrets when they left this world.

Farewell, our dear friends. We will remember you forever, in our heart.

Our late but deepest condolence to the family.
