Forward head movement is a common cause of inconsistent ball striking. When your head moves past the ball too early, it changes your low point and reduces your ability to compress the shot.

Maintaining your head position slightly behind the ball encourages a better strike and more reliable launch conditions.

Black Canyon Golf Course is partnering with TaylorMade to bring a custom club fitting experience to Montrose. This is your opportunity to work one on one with a certified fitter and dial in equipment built specifically for your swing.

During your session you will test the latest TaylorMade drivers, woods, irons, and wedges while receiving real performance feedback and professional recommendations.

Appointments are limited and booking is required.

Join our Couples Golf Clinic and learn together, laugh together, and maybe even get a little competitive 😉

Train with PGA Pros Eric Feely & Katie Burgoyne as you build fundamentals, improve your short game, and gain confidence on the course side by side

Each clinic runs 6:15–7:45 PM and is $360 per couple. Spots are limited to just 6 couples per session, and payment must be made in full to reserve your spot.

2026 Sessions:
• Clinic #1: May 11 – June 15
• Clinic #2: June 22 – July 20
• Clinic #3: August 3 – August 31

Pro Tip of the Week: Square the Face at Impact

Many golfers assume their swing path determines where the ball starts. In reality, the clubface angle at impact has the biggest influence on your start line. If the face is open, the ball starts right. If it’s closed, it starts left.

Working on returning the clubface square at impact can immediately improve accuracy and help your shots start closer to your intended target.

Try this: Pick a small spot a few feet in front of the ball and focus on sending the ball directly over it. This encourages a square clubface through impact.
