For years "The Green Papaya" restaurant has served fresh, flavorful, and healthy Thai and Laotian cuisine in the Montgomery area. Thai's from the Northeast section of Thailand, Issan (or Esan), consider themselves Lao, and historically this part of Thailand and Laos have very close connections reflected in the music, dress and of course the food. Blending her culinary instincts with recipes from t

he streets of Laos, Owner and Executive Chef Soutthiphayphone Thinavongsa has created a menu to offer the finest authentic Lao and Thai dishes outside the far east. The Green Papaya offers over 75 dishes, many with a choice of meat or a vegetarian option and various levels of spice to meet the various tastes of the American palate while maintaining authenticity. We use only the freshest ingredients and high quality vegetable oil (we never use any hydrogenated oil or add MSG). Service is always efficient with the smiles and hospitality Thailand is known for and the experience is surprisingly inexpensive. All dishes are made to order and served "piping hot".
