Unfortunate booking practices:
We want to alert travelers to a concerning issue that has recently come to our attention. Some guests searching for our inn have reported being unknowingly redirected to a third-party service vaguely claiming to be the “reservation department” of The Black Lantern Inn.
These unauthorized agents may book rooms on your behalf through legitimate sites, usually expedia partners, then add hidden charges, sometimes up to $60 more per night, disguised as additional “fees” on top of standard third-party costs.
Please be aware: we do not operate through any outside “reservation department.” To ensure accurate pricing and secure bookings, always reserve directly through our official website or contact us using verified information.
We have reported this activity to the Better Business Bureau and are actively working to address the issue. We encourage all travelers to stay vigilant and share this warning to help prevent others from being misled.
