We're a friendly ice cream soda and coffee shop with a railway theme and located behind the Monterey Depot Museum in downtown Monterey. Premium, super rich and creamy ice creams, including dairy-free options, sundaes, shakes and sodas, plus coffee and pastries for an afternoon pick-up.

It's another beautiful day for ice cream in Monterey! I'm late to be posting this, but I loved seeing these mini rail cars (Dale Welch calls them speeders for some reason) setting up behind our shop... and the Monterey Depot Museum, of course. Kudos to all the folks who keep these vehicles as living working museum pieces. Most days I don't think I am that old, but I do remember similar cars that were doing service runs along the tracks where I grew up.

Tonight State Senator Paul Bailey swore in the new Mayor Chris Landers, Vice-Mayor Brian Williams, and aldermen Spencer Delk, James Wolfram and Charlotte Cleary, all of whom were elected or re-elected in our recent elections. We have a Board of Aldermen who are truly committed to the growth and prosperity of our town and I couldn't be happier for each of them. Extending our prayers for their faithful service and blessings upon them as they make decisions in the coming years. Outgoing Mayor Alex Garcia presided over the first part of the meeting. To Alex, we wish every blessing and thank him for his service and, on a personal note, for his kindness to us at Tennessee Central Soda Shop.

Butter B**r? We had a lady come in and ask for this made with our Sioux City Old-fashioned Root B**r. Doing some research it can also be made with Cream Soda. Add some caramel syrup, a bit of cream and a splash of Ghirardelli's caramel at the top... We call ours Butter Bear because we know Smokey would love this one! And because I had a typo in my file name. 😊
