Our philosophy is simple: Great coffee leads to great adventures, conversations, and ideas.

We want to bring the best coffee possible to our community. The comfort you feel when taking the first sip, the optimism that follows, and the spontaneity that occurs when the cup is finished; that is what we’re all about! As two friends who grew up in the Montebello area we want to share our passion for coffee and life with our friends, families, and community. Plain and simple - we love coffee, we love what it stands for, and we want you to love it too!!

Our PSL was engineered by a future engineer. 👩‍🔬🎃☕️

Meet Scarlett, the owner’s daughter and the mind behind our Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe.

Before heading off to UC Berkeley to study engineering, she created this recipe with real spices and a goal: make a PSL that still lets the coffee shine.

Now she’s starting a new chapter, but she left a little piece of herself here at Ground Up.

Ground Up started in 2017 with a simple belief:

Our community deserves high-quality coffee too.

No pretension. No need to leave the neighborhood.

Just good coffee, roasted weekly, right here in Montebello.

Our Pumpkin Spice Latte was created by the owner’s daughter and made with real spices.

Choose oat or almond milk to make it vegan.
