Pizza Night isn't just dinner... it's an activity.

Everyone can roll their own dough, choose their favorite toppings, and make a pizza that's completely their own.

Three tips that make a BIG difference:

πŸ• Let the dough come to room temperature and lightly coat it with oil so it stays soft and easy to work with.

πŸ• Roll it thinner than you think. The thinner the dough, the better the finished pizza.

πŸ• Use less sauce and cheese than you think you need. It's one of the best tips we picked up while researching and testing this kit.

What are your family's favorite pizza toppings?

Or... what's your best homemade pizza tip?

I'd love to hear it in the comments.

One of this year's winning ideas came from Helen Schlesinger.

She suggested a Southwest Salmon Wrap with yellow rice and black beans.

I loved the idea. Then we asked ourselves...

How do we make this simple enough that someone can put it together at home without losing what made it special?

So here's what we came up with.

We send you the salmon and our Southwest seasoning. You bake the salmon.

Cook the rice with our seasoning packet. Let both cool.

Then build the wrap with crisp vegetables and our house Russian dressing.

And here's my favorite part...

Another community member, baker_mom8, shared that she lightly bakes the finished wrap after it's assembled.

I thought that was a fantastic idea, especially for a fish wrap.

Great ideas keep building on each other.

One comment changed this year's Nine Days menu.

A few days ago, I asked all of you what absolutely belongs on a Nine Days menu.

One of the comments that really stuck with me came from Shari Rackman.

She suggested a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

And it made me stop and think.

We haven't offered our Caprese Basil Panini in years.

So instead of a traditional grilled cheese, we brought back the panini and developed a savory tomato bisque to go with it.

Honestly... I think it came together beautifully.

This is exactly why I wanted your ideas.

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from the community.

Thank you, Shari... and thank you to everyone who helped us build this year's Nine Days menu.

You guys delivered.

Yesterday's conversation was exactly what I hoped it would be.

We received so many thoughtful suggestions, and several of them made it onto this year's Nine Days menu.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their favorite dishes.

The menu is officially live, and we'll be reaching out to everyone whose ideas were selected.

Now... go take a look and see if you can spot them. 😊

Every year we ask ourselves the same question...

What absolutely belongs on a Nine Days menu?

This year, instead of guessing, I want to hear from you.

Leave your favorite Nine Days dish in the comments by 11:30 PM tonight.

If your idea makes this year's menu, I'll feature it (with your permission), give you the credit, and send you 6 free servings of your dish.

Let's build this menu together.

One small trick that makes a BIG difference.

When the chicken first hits the pan, it'll naturally stick a little. That's normal. Give it a few seconds, then gently release it. If you wait too long, the crust can stick to the pan instead of the chicken.

As promised, here's the coating recipe (about 2 lb chicken):

Dry Mix
β€’ 2Β½ cups flour
β€’ Β½ cup cornstarch
β€’ 2ΒΌ tsp baking powder
β€’ 2ΒΌ tsp kosher salt

Mix some of the dry mix with cold water until it reaches a loose pancake batter consistency.

Coat: Dry mix β†’ Batter β†’ Dry mix
Press on the second coating, rest 5–10 minutes, then fry over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and 165Β°F internally.

Save this one for your next fried chicken night.

A clean grill cooks better. I finally gave mine a proper deep clean, and it took less than an hour.

Here's my process:

β€’ Remove everything that comes out and soak it. Scrub each piece clean in the sink.
β€’ Scrape and brush the inside of the grill, removing as much loose grease and carbon as possible.
β€’ For stubborn buildup, use an appropriate grill or oven cleaner if it's safe for your grill's materials. Wipe everything down thoroughly afterward.
β€’ Reassemble, fire it up, and you're ready to grill.

It's simple maintenance, but it helps your grill heat more evenly, reduces flare-ups, and makes cooking a lot more enjoyable.

Totally worth the hour.

Sometimes the best recipes aren't recipes at all.

Had a few bananas that needed to be used, so they hit the grill.

That's it.

The sugars caramelize. The inside turns soft and creamy. Add a scoop of ice cream if you want to make it dangerous.

Simple food. Zero waste. Big payoff.

Try it this week and let me know.

Four events. One week.

A late lunch.
A dairy buffet.
A Brazilian barbecue.
An Italian dinner.

Different menus. Different venues. Different challenges.

The goal is always the same:

Great food.
Clear communication.
And a host who gets to enjoy their guests.

If you're planning an event and trying to figure out the food, I'd be happy to help.

Your food might need a wake-up call.

A squeeze of lemon.
A splash of vinegar.

Especially at the end.

Not to make food sour.
To make it taste more like itself.

Try it this week for food that is awake with flavor. πŸ‹
