For the second time in less than a year the drive thru gutter was clipped and damaged. This time, whoever it was, left without saying anything. Please know the height of your vehicle before using the drive thru. There are plenty of places to park on this property. It often would take less time to park, get out, and walk up for your order than wait in line in the drive thru. If you drive a work truck or RV that is large enough to clip this gutter, I’m sure you’re fully capable of getting out and walking to the front window.
On another note, a safety note, please don’t drive recklessly through my property. Countless times a day we watch cars drive at unsafe speeds through the property. We watch collisions almost happen. There are many kids who play on this property. They ride their bikes around it. They walk from the picnic tables to the front for a spoon or another ketchup. They shouldn’t have to do so while dodging cars who are treating a driveway like a freeway on ramp. It’s dangerous, reckless, and it puts children in danger, which is unacceptable.
When it comes to smoking, please don’t do it in close proximity to the building or windows. As a former bartender and bar hopper, it doesn’t bother me. However, it isn’t about me or you. It’s about the 15, 16, 17, and 18-year-old kids who work here. It’s also about the little kids standing behind you in line. Or just the other adults. None of them come here to be smokers. There are many places away from the building that you are welcome to smoke.
Finally, this is my business, but it is also my home. Please respect it. I’ve held my tongue on this for four years. Every day I find gum, cigarette butts, and loose trash in every corner of this property. I’ve watched people dump their unwanted beverages out of their window, onto my driveway. I’ve seen people flick cigarette butts out of their window, towards my house. This is my home. It’s where I live. It’s where I host company. I have been very welcoming of anyone who wants to come here. Please be respectful and use the trash cans that are provided. If you have a beverage you want to dispose of, just ask, we’ll gladly take it for you.
I don’t think I’m being unreasonable with any of this. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from coming here or having a great time here. I know that 99% of the people who come here treat the property with great respect. I’m just asking for everyone to be mindful of their behavior when visiting my home and business. And know the height of your vehicle.
