Interesting Texas history

One of my own photos. This is the small chapel that was built by Italian Prisoners of War near Hereford, Texas during World War II when there was a large Italian Prisoner of War camp there. 5,000 prisoners stayed at the camp, which was the second largest built in the United States during the war. Now the chapel stands in the middle of a field, surrounded by corn and a lot of lonely silence. Strange to be there and contemplate what was there just 75 years ago.
