Sugar Kneads

Sugar Kneads I provide classic cookies with a luxury taste. Hello my sweet fans. Welcome to Sugar Kneads where your eyes can be tempted to try something new.

If this is your first time visiting us let me tell you a little about myself. I obtained my Bachelors in Business Administration from Valparaiso University, Masters in Business Administration/Human resources from Indiana Wesleyan, and most recently my Culinary Arts: Baking and Pastry Certification from the Art Institute of Cincinnati. I have been working in the health care industry in Human resour

ces since 2003. Between my time working with people in corporate America, spending summers in professional kitchens with my brother (and executive chef), and culinary school I’ve learned to read the needs of people and fulfill their appetite for sweets. I want to be a part of your celebration, and for every celebration there’s desert. Your taste buds don’t have to be limited to the cookies, cupcakes, and brownies. Expand your palette and try a raspberry white chocolate torte wrapped with a vanilla sponge cake for the dinner party you’re hosting this weekend. However you have to love good food that’s made from scratch AND be willing to sacrifice every calorie to eat it. I’ve realized that my happiest moments have been the look of pleasure when someone’s enjoying my deserts. It brings my heart joy to hear the words “OMG this is amazing”. I just love to see them come back for more. My belief, I put my heart in everything that I do. It’s not just about passion or making something with love. The bible says “A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say (or do) flows from what is in your heart” Luke 6:45. Everything I do reveals my true underlying motivation. What’s in my heart comes out in my product.

I share my personal journey of adopting my daughter Olivia, and how it was all part of God’s perfect timing. I encourage others to be open to different paths to motherhood, and to trust in God’s plan for their lives. I also celebrate all the nurturing women out there, even if they don’t have a child living with them, because we are all mothers in our own way.

This May, I took the time to reflect on what it means to find harmony in the chaos of life. Join me as I share insights on embracing the little things that bring peace and balance. Check out my latest blog post! https://wix.to/TvWUDzW

May unfolded as a month of introspection, growth, and finding balance. It wasn't about grand achievements but about embracing the journey, acknowledging the ebbs and flows, and finding harmony in the midst of life's rhythms.1. Finding Strength in Study and Self-DisciplineThis month, I continued my p...

Part 1

Not my choice, but my journey

Never would I have imagined that I would be a part of this wonderful cluster of women. Women that never thought bringing life could be so hard, heartbreaking, and some days lonely.

I talk about our struggle with infertility, going through multiple rounds of IVF and artificial insemination, and experiencing an ectopic pregnancy that required emergency surgery and the loss of a fallopian tube.

I talk about my personal journey with infertility, including the emotional challenges of dealing with it while also losi...

I talk about my personal journey with infertility, including the emotional challenges of dealing with it while also losing a parent. I share my struggles with the well-meaning but unhelpful advice from the Christian community, and encourage other women going through this to be patient with themselves, focus on what they can control, and be open to God’s plan, even if it’s different from what they envisioned.

Learning this thing called harmony can be challenging but once I find my groove it’s priceless.

Today was about me focusing on one thing at a time and that was more than.

🌿 April was a month of quiet growth.

I didn’t hit every milestone—but I showed up.
✔️ I kept studying for my ServSafe exam.
✔️ I reset my health with juicing and an anti-inflammatory focus.
✔️ I baked for joy—not profit—including some chocolate chunk cookies just because.
✔️ I got curious about what triggers emotional eating—and started healing from the inside out.

This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about intention.
And I’m learning to trust the seeds I’m planting now.

🌼 New blog is live:

April didn’t come with fireworks or huge milestones—but that’s okay. Some months aren’t about crossing finish lines; they’re about preparing the ground for what’s coming next. This month reminded me that growth often happens quietly, beneath the surface. Whether it was showing up for my h...
