Taino Familia,
We want to thank each and everyone of you who made us part of your home by bringing our food to your table. Part of your lunch time and most important part of your most intimate occasions by choosing us as your caterer.
It’s with a broken heart that we informed everyone that Taino has closed. It has been the most painful and heart braking decision we had to make. Dedicating almost 2 years to bring great food getting amazing reviews making awesome friends and with dreams of staying till I had to retired this was my dream.
Someone with a malicious heart complaint about us to the Fire Marshall about our hood not being up to code, we had no idea!
We never own a restaurant before and we were inspected several times before and after opening so almost 2 years later this happen to us because “someone wanted to be a good citizen” . I wished this person could had spoken to us and given us the opportunity to make things right before doing what they did.
A new hood would had cost in the up 50 thousand. Unfortunately we didn’t have that type of money, we have had a rough few months, a life saving operation for our youngest son, the sickness and death of my father those who ever owned a Restaurant know that at the beginning at times the owners go without pay that’s why I keep a second job and so did my partner Ed.
We fought to get things done we just couldn’t, the business was not 2 years old yet to get a loan and we couldn’t get a personal loan so we had to make the decision to let it go.
To this “Person” I want you to know that what you did was extremely malicious and not of a good citizen but of an evil heart. You broke my dream, a dream that I worked 3 years to save for, making sacrifices you will never understand. I didn’t make it on time to see my father leave this world because of the commitment I had to my dream .
You left 3 single mothers head of house without a job, you left 3 college students without a job, your broke a family dream, you left a community that every time there was a despair I was there making sure the family didn’t have to cook for a week . School teachers when they had and event and PTO in our surrounding that counted with us for the events all for free. Because you decided to be a good citizen like we were committing a crime.
To the fire Marshall thank you for trying, when you gave us the news you also said I know what’s going to happen I didn’t get it then I got it later. He knew my dreams where over.
Familia I have cried and scream in anger and in pain those who got to know me knew how hard I worked. And how much I love my Taino Restaurant. This has been the most painful and difficult decision in my life. I believe that God and the Universe has something better in store for me.
Thank you everyone we will truly miss all of you.
Hasta pronto
Gracias
Taino staff.
