Dear valued patrons that have become part of our Cascio family:
It breaks every piece of my heart and soul to write this,Since his tragic and unexpected passing-I’ve been in pure grief-but it’s time for me to give our valued, beloved, dedicated customers ;old and new,an answer for what the future of my dad’s legendary 32 years of business will hold.
I know my dad’s wishes were for not me to take over the business. He had planned on retiring soon to have more time with his whole heart,Arabella (grand daughter). Years ago, I argued with that stubborn 🤣man to let me take it over one day and he said: “baby, this type of business is basically like a marriage and a 365 day job and I don’t want you missing out on life by constantly cooking and worrying about being a restaurant owner.” He appreciated and truly enjoyed sitting with all his customers that became friends and family to him and talking about life with them . He loved each one of yall so so much.
An honestly,I’m trying to learn how to navigate life without my precious ,amazing, loving, my heart; my sweet daddy.
It kills me to say out loud “Freddie Cascio’s Italian & Cajun Eatery is officially closed.”
Over the years, we have had the immense privilege of becoming a part of your lives, sharing in your celebrations, milestones, and even the quiet moments that become cherished memories. The love and support you have shown us over the years have been the driving force behind our dedication, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Your loyalty, smiles, and kind words have been the heart and soul of Freddie Cascio’s. It's been an honor to serve you, to witness your stories unfold within these walls, and to be a place where connections were made.
On behalf of my dad, I also want to extend a very special thank you to our dedicated employees who have been with us throughout this incredible 32 year journey, some since the very beginning. These men and women have worked hard to provide exceptional food quality and friendly service to our customers. I am so thankful for each and every one of them and wish them the very best. Aunt Rosie,Debbie, and Jay have been there since day one and I couldn’t be more thankful for them.
As the doors close and the Cascio’s sign will come down,Finks Hideaway will never be the same. I hope in this time of grief and transition-passing by the building will remind you of great memories.
I will find a way to keep my dad’s legacy alive-I promise each one of yall that. ONLY I know all of his recipes.
And when I can get past the heartbreak and shock of him no longer being with us, give me time and I will get to work on figuring out how to jarring his spaghetti sauce, lasagna, manicotti,Rockefeller sauce, steak sauce, catfish Rosie sauce, and OF COURSE those fan-favorite cheese sticks. Back into y’all’s lives. That is my dream is to keep his original recipes he worked so hard on to still be around.
Forever grateful for everyone that loved my dad’s food and for each of you that loved him.
With Love,
Victoria Cascio Dispenza
