Scott was an instrumental part of Donatellos as he did all the artwork for me and all the costume building. Scott will always be missed. Our condolences go out to his wife Kristy who also helped with the artwork and was an employee of Donatello's whenever they were in the Salem area.

Some sad news in the Donatello's world. Scott Michael has passed away this weekend. Scott and his wife Kristy were heavily involved in the evolution of Donatello's Pizza. Scott was responsible for all the beautiful artwork that I had done inside and outside the building. I first hired Scott in our second year of operation in 2013 as a window painter. Scott would change the windows to reflect upcoming special days or holidays. In our 3rd year I asked Scott about the possibility of him doing that type of painting on our walls in various themes of cartoons or important people that I had grown up with. Scott loved the idea, and I would tell him what I wanted, and he would put his spin on it and it would come to fruition.
Customers would very noticeably look at all of the artwork as they were waiting for or eating their pizza. It was a hit with all ages. Scott's wife Kristy would assist him at times, and she also worked as a bartender as well as a front-end cashier at Donatello's. Scott and Kristy lived in an RV and traveled frequently and when they were in Salem they would park behind Donatello's and live and work for me there. Scott posted many YouTube videos of his travels around the country as well as the work he would do everywhere they went. You can check out the videos at RvBandwagon channel on YouTube. Around year 5 Scott and I talked about some of the costumes that he would seemingly make out of nothing but odds and ends he would find, and I asked him to do some for Donatello's for entertainment purposes. Scott used to be heavily involved in putting together Halloween shows and was a master at costume building and also could make many props for display. Scott built some great looking Star Wars costumes that he would wear around the restaurant, and the public loved them. Scott also had a Santa Claus outfit and did that as well for Christmas time at Donatello's. One of the best displays he made was a Frozen themed display for an Anna and Elsa meet and greet that was so popular that we literally could not handle the volume of people that wanted to see the display and the women we had play the parts. (Sera and Hannah) Such attention to detail on all levels it was a smash hit. Another employee Eli would assist Scott and wear the Chewbacca costume as well as the stormtrooper. Scott was Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. After Donatello's closed Scott and Kristy traveled to Florida where they have been for a couple of years and Scott was always busy with his painting and video making as well as he played in several local bands. It was my hope that Scott would return for a future Donatello's Pizza project, and he will certainly be missed. Our condolences go out to his wife Kristy and his family and friends. RIP my friend.

Donatello's would like to extend our condolences to the family of Chuck Bradley who passed away earlier this week. We at Donatello's last saw Chuck 2 weeks ago after a stay in the hospital. Donatello's has been open 8 short months but Chuck has visited us half a dozen times and has had very kind words about us and has given some good advice as we try to grow. We looked forward to reading his reviews about us which we knew would appear later that day on-line. RIP Chuck
