Mary and Matt Weber are year round residents of Monhegan Island, which lies just 34 miles east of the suspected center of the universe. About a year ago, Matt took a semi-informal course in business planning and as his example he used a brewery. With Mary's father being a master brewer it seemed reasonable. The end of the course coincided with the end of a slow summer harpooning tuna fish, and it

dawned on Matt that a brewery on Monhegan might be a viable entity. After plenty of mature, serious consideration by pretty much everyone involved but Matt, they went ahead and started their own little brewery! Mary and Matt take care of the day to day operations but more importantly, "We are lucky enough to have Danny McGovern brewing our beer! With nearly 30 years of perfecting his craft we are thrilled to make great beer and keep it in the family." "Mary and I love life on Monhegan and feel it can only be improved upon if there were a constant supply of hand crafted beer on the island. Our promise to you- if you and yours come for a visit (and who doesn't want to come to a Maine island in summer?) we'll keep the beer cold for you!"
