e entire thing in one bite. Introducing (a sandwich that really needs no introduction in the QC)… our trademarked VandeRueben. A time-tested local favorite enjoyed by many throughout the years. For those who haven't tried one, the opportunity is right at your fingertips. Every Thursday and Friday, we serve up our famous giant VandeRueben along with a handful of other Trademarked and Signature Belgian Village items. Our names are Katie and Devon Manning. We are the daughter and son of Shawn and Karen Manning, owners of the former Belgian Village Inn restaurant in Moline. For those who are not familiar, the Belgian Village Inn was opened in 1977 by our grandparents, Denny and Loretta Ceurvorst, who invented the VandeRueben and other Belgian Village Inn favorites which they quickly became known for. In 1997 the BVI was purchased by our parents, Shawn and Karen, who enjoyed many years of success continuing to provide the Quad Cities with the food they came to know and love. Then in 2014, after 37 years, it was time for a fond farewell and the Belgian Village Inn closed its doors. HOWEVER... we all knew it couldn't stay away. I mean, come on...the withdrawals started almost immediately. And so enters the 3rd Generation. Our mission is simple: To offer the same restaurant quality food our family has been serving since 1977. We started by introducing a completely new and exciting way to enjoy our sandwiches. The Concept: Sandwiches are sold chilled and un-grilled, for in-home preparation. You can get them directly from us on Thursday/Friday OR stop by one of our local Retailers where select chilled sandwiches are available on the shelf. We keep an up-to-date list of Belgian Village Retailers on our website/page at all times. This concept has expanded the reach of our product and has really been a game changer, opening up many possibilities for the future of Belgian Village and our signature products. Recently, we have re-introduced HOT food to the equation. Every Thursday/Friday, directly from our shop in Moline, not only can you get chilled sandwiches to grill at home, but you can also get all of our Signature Sandwiches Hot Grilled and Ready-To-Eat! That’s right, Every Thursday & Friday, at the Belgian Village. And not only are we GRILLING, but you can choose to EAT INSIDE or take it TO GO! We’ve also got a handful of other signature items: Loaves of our giant homemade bread, giant cookies, cookie dough, and more. And occasionally we like to bring back some of our other Signature Belgian Village Recipes such as our Cinnamon Streusel Rolls, Bread Pudding, and Creamy Macaroni Salad!
