The Hitchin Post Family is deeply saddened to inform you all that our beloved waitress Sherry Duran has passed away. This loss is incredibly difficult for all of us, we know that many of you have had the privilege of getting to know and love her and be served by her for 10 plus years. As we reflect back on all of our time knowing, and having the opportunity to work with Sherry… here is a few things that come to our mind!
Her laugh is one of them. When she started laughing you could hear her from another room, and you knew once you joined her, she was going to tell you exactly what happened (or what she did) and you would end up laughing too! Her laugh was so very contagious, even if you were not sure what was going on.
She had a fun loving personality, and great perspective on life. She was amazing with our customers but especially their kiddos, she was always trying to make the work environment fun. She loved playing silly jokes on people; especially her regular customers! And of course co-workers too!
She was smart. She was kind. She was the kinda person who could have done any job she wanted (she did!) but I think she genuinely enjoyed being a waitress, and serving HER people.
When we all think of her, we can’t help but think about her smile, and her laugh. Her genuine love for her family, her immaculate cars, and her love for travel. She was a spitfire, and she will be greatly missed by every single person. If you knew her, or had the chance to, consider yourself lucky. People like her are rare and should be cherished.
No days are promised, hold your loved ones tight, as we never know when we’re doing anything for the last time.
Her time at the Hitchin’ Post will never be forgotten, and neither will she.
Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts, we all appreciate our community so much. We will remain open, we all know that Sherry would want that.
We will keep everyone updated with what’s next to come and how we will celebrate her amazing life. 🫶🏼
With deep regards, The Hitchin Post Family.
