Looking back, the first time she tasted a gluten-free product, was about 10 years ago.

We try to re-create that which the person has missed since becoming diagnosed with Celiac Disease, gluten free or gluten sensitive. We choose the finest, Organic Ingredients so that you can eat Queenies Gluten Free, guilt free, knowing that you are eating "clean" food, made with your well-being in mind. Our ‘I Can’t Believe This is Gluten-Free!’ Cinnamon Roll, for instance, oozes a mighty crescendo of flavors. Texture upon texture of moist and bending nuances of cinnamon and caramelized sugars, unite with the buttery goodness of roasted pecans and sweet raisins. Topped with an ample crown of rich, cream cheese frosting, it is a jewel of a roll which some have said is better than its original predecessor. Queenies Gluten Free has a long list of enthusiastic followers. Initially, we introduced them to our Famous Fruit Tart, in a sweet, cookie-like, pastry shell that is made luscious with a rich, satiny, vanilla-infused cream. The cream sits proudly upon a dark chocolate & raspberry puree covered shell; it is then topped with the freshest of berries in a festive design...no two are alike and an ample drizzle of the finest dark Belgian chocolate. It is the fantasy dessert. Every bite better than the last. The Queen, herself, was trained by two French pastry chefs in Europe, many moons ago, when food was an art form. She has studied at two culinary schools along the way, one in Los Angeles and one in New York. Her pastries follow the French School of thought: rich tasting, using the highest quality of REAL ingredients: eggs, butter, cream, whole milk etc., so by no means are they calorie free. They are desserts to be eaten slowly; Indulgence at its peak. She has perfected her gluten free recipes through study and research and makes luscious gluten free pastries, without the gluten free taste.

Queenie needs Help....setting up her booth at the Salida Saturday Market. Helper needs to show up at 7am at Alpine Park in Salida CO, starting this Saturday...in exchange for helping unload the car, set up the tent and table and chairs, you will receive a box chock full of freshly baked Gluten Free Treats and a small monetary tip. When I was younger, somewhere in my early 30's, Queenie had not been borne as yet, although, I was a little bit of a Princess then and got to travel all over the world and then, country. My sister and her husband had a beautiful summer house right down from the Lighthouse in Edgartown, MA, otherwise known as Martha's Vineyard and on one occasion I was invited out for Memorial Day...the true start of what was known then, as the "SEASON".
It was a glorious summer for me chock full of memories to warm a lifetime....One of the all time highlights was the discovery of freshly made Apple Fritters from a little bakery in town. My sister and I would get up early for a beach walk every morning, but, towards the end of the week, on Thursday and Friday, we would be getting ready for weekend guests, so instead of returning home, we would extend our walk into town and reach the bakery just in time to buy their legendary Apple Fritters, still warm from the fryer and smothered in a vanilla-y crackly glaze.
NOW, When the "Season" begins, I always remember those tantalizing treats and finally, just before it started, Queenie perfected the memory of those treats last year, in a gluten free version that is almost exactly like those epic Martha's Vineyard delicacies ....So for this weekend, delight your friends and family with a tray of GF Air Fried Apple Fritters, (complete with all of the nooks and crannies and "crunchy bits"), smothered in that same, vanilla-y & crackly glaze!
