You could have all the right tools for the job, but without the knowledge that comes from years and years of experience, those tools won’t help much.

Growers like Spencer from Robben Ranch understand that, and we couldn’t be happier to have men and women like him handling some of our tomatoes. Spencer is a generational farmer who has decades of soil on his hands and has the seasonal knowledge to understand exactly what every tomato plant needs to thrive after the transplanting process.

Soil compaction. Moisture content. And many other factors come into play when you’re looking for a successful transition from seed tray to soil. And as Spencer’s team places every seedling with precision and care, Spencer’s eyes and hands aren’t far behind, ensuring that it’s done right.

That’s the secret to superior-quality tomatoes: finding the right people who have the right tools and the passion to create something truly special for all of you—so you can create something truly unforgettable for your customers.

The freedoms we've been given were paid for by the courage and sacrifice of others. On Memorial Day, we pause from our busy lives to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Today is the day where we give thanks for all they have made possible.

We hold a place in our heart for our Stanislaus employee family and restaurant families we've had the privilege to serve who have carried that sacrifice with them. Their loss, their strength, and their love for the people they served and protected should never be forgotten.

Today, we remember with gratitude, humility, and respect.

💡 Innovation, Grown with Care 🌱

Innovation has always been part of our roots. From the years when Dino Cortopassi embraced the brand new process of mechanical harvesting, we continued to believe in using technology to grow better, not just faster. And we're encouraged when we see growers like Robben Ranch take on that same spirit of progress with their own practices by investing in some of the most advanced technology you can find in the agricultural world today.

Our seedlings are moving from their greenhouse trays to the field quickly guided by an automated transplanter that places each one into soil beds months in the making. It’s a remarkable process, and one that growers are proud to adopt. But these machines don’t work completely unsupervised.

Watchful eyes monitor every pass. Team members load trays by hand, catching anything that needs extra care. This blend of efficiency and attention helps keep costs down for our growers and consistency high for our customers. It’s how we deliver premium tomatoes—grown with intention, guided by people, and made for unforgettable dishes.

Spending the day at Slice Out Hunger’s Pizza on the Pier was a good reminder of what makes the pizza community so special.
Great people came together to do what they love: feed others, share pizza, and raise money for those facing food insecurity. That is always a day well spent.
And when it happens outside, with a slice in hand and a view of New York City, it is pretty hard to beat.

Happy Mother’s Day!

With three passionate baseball playing sons, I have celebrated many Mother’s Day
weekends at the ballpark.

It was always a treat to share the day with other caring, loving, and supportive baseball
moms. There was no greater gift than being a part of our Little League’s traditional
celebration where prideful young kids honored their mothers with a simple bouquet of
flowers.

While we may no longer gather at the ballpark for Mother’s Day, I treasure the
simplest moments spent with my sons — laughing, playing games, and simply being their
Mom.

Today, we celebrate all mothers whose love, care, and support make
a lasting difference every day. Wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day.

-Maureen Cortopassi

🌱 Getting Ready for the Real World 🍅

After months of being nurtured in the greenhouse, our tomato seedlings have finally been exposed to the elements for the last few weeks as they endure the “hardening off” phase of their journey. This process involves slowly opening the curtains of the greenhouse to expose our seedlings to the cold wind and the harsher outdoor environment that will acclimate them to their future homes.

We like to think of this time as getting them ready for the “real world.”

But how do we know when they’re ready to leave? The stem of the seedling will turn a deep shade of purple, signaling its readiness for the next step on its path to becoming a beautiful Stanislaus tomato: transplanting. Check in with us next week as we share our transplanting process and all the preparation and care that go into every can of Stanislaus tomatoes.

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to host tastings with talented restaurants across Mexico City and throughout MX.

These moments in the kitchen are always special—where true respect for ingredients and craftsmanship shines through, something only hardworking chefs truly understand.

We’re honored to be welcomed into their kitchens and to have our tomatoes become part of their table.

Reliability doesn’t always make headlines, but it matters more than ever.

In a world where everything seems to change, there’s value in knowing the can you open today will deliver the same trusted Stanislaus flavor as the one you opened years ago. For the people who cook with our products, consistency matters. Their guests expect a great meal, and their name is on every plate.

That kind of dependability doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from steady care, constant refinement, and a commitment to never settle for “good enough.”

While others chase “new and improved,” we believe there is real value in flavor that shows up when it matters most—every can, every day, every year.
