PSA: I’ve been learning a lot about postage and sending things through the mail. Things have really changed. Here are some things you should know when you send things through USPS.
There are envelopes that are considered standard and can be sent with regular stamps, which are referred to as machinable. Machinable means it can be run through the machine. Standard is considered up to 11 1/4” long x 6 1/8” wide. A standard parcel measures: No more than 27 inches long x 17 inches width x 17 inches high.
Non-machinable letters and parcels have to be processed by hand and have resulted in delays in delivery due to the reduction in force.
Keep this in mind when sending wedding, baby, Christmas invitations/cards.
Hope this helps! 😎
