Iron Griz: American Bistro Iron Griz is a seasonal restaurant operated by Campus Dining, open May through August at the UM Golf Course.

Iron Griz features locally sourced food through University of Montana's Farm to College program and fresh produce from its on-site garden.

This week’s specials are rooted in what’s growing right outside our front door at our Iron Griz Garden. Our Garden Vegetable Tempura features seasonal vegetables, tempura battered, fried until crisp, and served with cilantro ponzu. We also have our Nourish Bowl, made with millet sautéed with seasonal vegetables and chickpeas, simmered in a turmeric spiced vegetable broth, and topped with a sunny side up egg. Both dishes are vegetarian, with chicken or shrimp available to add to the Nourish Bowl. With our season coming to a close on August 15, now is a good time to stop in for one more summer meal.

This week's specials are bringing a taste of summer to the table.

Our Catfish Po' Boy features crispy cornmeal breaded catfish served on a hoagie roll with remoulade, pickle, tomato, and shredded lettuce, plus your choice of side. Or try the Lemony Shrimp Orzo, where tender shrimp are simmered in a lemon beurre blanc and tossed with orzo and seasonal vegetables for a bright, buttery bite.

This week's specials feature squash blossoms from our own garden, stuffed with melty goat cheese, breaded and fried until golden, and served with our house-made green goddess dip.

It's already time for another staff highlight! This is Abby, one of our stellar servers at Iron Griz! Originally from Paradise, California, Abby made the move to Montana and graduated this past spring with a major in Native American Studies and a minor in Climate Change Studies at UM.
When it's time for a meal, the Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich with fries is always the go-to order. What makes Iron Griz special for Abby is the people. The crew feels like family, and getting to come into work and see friends every day is the best part of the job.
When not at the restaurant, Abby is making the most of a Montana summer. Whether it's hiking, rock climbing, or getting outside with her dog, Nala, adventure is never far away. We're so grateful to have Abby on the team!

Staff Highlight!! This is Ronnie, one of our amazing servers at Iron Griz! Originally from Reno, Nevada, Ronnie graduated from the University of Montana with a BFA in Design and Technology for Theatre and also earned a dance certificate. Ronnie's favorite menu item is the Beet Reuben with a side of sweet potato fries. The best part about working at Iron Griz? The team! Ronnie says everyone is "very chic" and that the crew is basically the Spice Girls. Outside of the restaurant, Ronnie works as an assistant director for Montana Shakespeare and loves spending any free time walking Finn the dog whenever the opportunity arises.
