Fifteen years ago, on July 7, Surfin Souvlaki was born.
To say it’s been a wild ride would be an understatement. We’re proud to be one of the very few restaurants that has never advertised—our success has been built entirely on word of mouth. That alone is a true accomplishment, especially considering how many Greek franchises have entered the area with their processed menu items.
As many of you know, I’m 100% Greek, with a strong academic and culinary background. My father was an accomplished chef with six restaurants across Los Angeles and Greece. My two children, both California natives, grew up immersed in SoCal culture—hence the “Surfin.” And as for “Souvlaki,” that’s all me—food is my passion.
Attached to this post is a video created by a wonderful customer. His son, an accomplished surfer and long-time Surfin Souvlaki regular, is just one example of how our customers have become like family.
