Greetings everyone!

I hope your “winter” is going well? That’s a thing people say, right?

I’ve been thinking about hot dogs, a lot; and it’s time to step away from this crazy idea that turned into a lot of great times, experiences, culinary delights, and most importantly people. I’ve been quickly realizing all I’ve been missing at home.

Family comes first.

No one will count the hot dogs you served.
No one will remember the lemonades you spilled.
No one will recall the late nights, early mornings, and countless smiles over an all beef hot dog.

But my family remembers the times I wasn’t there.

I came here to change some things, mold the street food culture in the area; and by golly I think I’ve done it.

So it’s time to pass the torch; I’m looking for the right person to continue the legacy of the hot dog stand far and wide across Minot and the surrounding area.

I’m in the process of the search, if you know someone that is looking for a fun filled, action packed, all you want to eat hot dog business…send them our way.

Hey Bun Fam,

You might be wondering where the heck your favorite we**ie slinger has been this summer. The short answer: life threw us a curveball (and not the kind you chase with a dog slathered in mustard).

Over the past few months, my youngest son has been dealing with a newly diagnosed chronic illness that’s meant multiple hospital stays and a whole lot of doctoring. He’s doing a bit better right now, but our top priority is being there for him, every step of the way.

That means most Jon driven Fun On A Bun operations are on pause this season. As much as I miss seeing your smiling faces and feeding you questionable amounts of hot dogs, there are more important things to be held like the little guy’s hand in the hospital.

BUT! We’ll be rolling out to the Minot Food Truck Festival in late August for what will likely be our final event this year. (And yes, I asked, you cannot pay a pediatrician in chili dogs. I tried. 😬)

This means you won’t find us at The Capri Bar for this year’s North Dakota Statr Fair, however you’ll still find refreshments in OUR spot from another local vendor.😉

Thank you all for 8 incredible years of laughs, support, and slightly chaotic condiment stations. Your love means more than I can ketchup with. I’ll be around when the time is right for everyone!

See you in August, with a big smile and a bigger bag of buns.

An idea at a local event in summer 2017 sparked a fire that burned during the cold North Dakota winter led to Fun On A Bun.

As Minot’s original hot dog stand; Fun On A Bun’s mission is to bring a lot of big city feel to a little bit of small town America.

Fun On A Bun features a dog du jour, a special topping, each day we are operating. From coleslaw covered hot dogs to chili with cheese and everything in between; it is our goal to elevate the humble all-beef hot dog to roadside bliss.

We will be out and about, on the move during seasonal weather, throughout Minot and around the area. We exclusively serve Cloverdale products, produced in Mandan, North Dakota. Their hot dogs and sausages are among the best, and we won’t accept less than a quality dog or sausage. A place for hot dogs and sausages that isn’t a slow death on a roller “grill” somewhere, the big city experience of a cart is here for you.
