POST UPDATE!! ❤️❤️ Thank you, thank you, thank you EVERYONE!! When I initially posted about our 5 year owner anniversary a few days ago, we were expecting the usual, normal response of maybe a few dozen loyal patrons who continue to follow our page. But the love we’ve received from you all is truly remarkable!! Nikki and I are incredibly humbled and grateful for the overwhelming love and support for the Leaning Tower.
And we so appreciate everyone who has taken the time to share a little story in the comments about the history and their own relationship they’ve had over the years with our little restaurant and bar.
We can’t wait to party with y’all next Summer for our 75th Diamond Anniversary!! ❤️🍕🍻🍹🙏👊❤️🥂🎉

For those of you who don’t know me personally, my name is Jamey Groethe, and I’m the current owner of the Leaning Tower.
This month marks the 5 year anniversary of when I took over as owner. And it’s been a roller coaster indeed. Emotionally, mentally and financially stressful, as well as incredibly rewarding in given the opportunity to adapt and grow in serving our neighborhood and community even more.
We’ve survived Covid, lockdowns, riots, civil unrest, inflation, economic recession, construction, the apartment building fire next door, and most recently - operation metro surge with the occupation of ICE. And throughout it all, we are STILL HERE!
Starting out as a delivery driver at the Leaning Tower 26 years ago, I never thought I’d be in the position I am today. I am so very grateful and humbled by all of the friends, family, staff and previous owner, Khosrow Daivari, who have all given me advice, guidance, direction, love and support along the way. I will never forget all of you who have made this possible.
But truth be told, the Tower wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for my girlfriend, my best friend, my business partner, Nikki. For the last two in a half years, Nikki has helped reshape and rebuild the Tower inside and out, into a place of beauty. Putting in an incredible amount of time, money and literal blood, sweat and tears, the Tower wouldn’t be standing without her.
Furthermore, the Tower wouldn’t be standing without any of you. The people in our neighborhood, our patrons, our regulars, our fellow business owners and all the residents in the neighborhood who continually look out for the safety and well-being of one another, is the reason why we are still here!
We are one BIG FAMILY!!
Since 1952, we’ve been serving our little Uptown neighborhood. We’ve been through hell and back! Next year we’re throwing a big party to celebrate our 75th year with all of you for our Diamond Anniversary!!
Thank you for all the years of love and support!!
- Jamey ❤️🙏👊
