We’re honored to be featured in the alongside so many other amazing local businesses who have been doing their part to provide for those in need during this challenging time.

They decided to accept food donations twice a week, on Fridays and Saturdays, and sort and deliver products on Sundays. Supporting families across the Twin Cities would be a marathon, not a sprint, they thought, and they also needed to make sure their employees could handle the constant stream of donations.

Over the course of a 30-minute conversation on a recent Saturday morning, more than two dozen people came in to drop off donations. Some of them asked if they could stay to help organize, including Sofie Holub, 25.

“Everyone wants to help. That’s how Minnesota is,” Ms. Holub said.
“Oh yeah, if you need help, we got you,” Kimberley Schuler, another volunteer, echoed.

The shop was overflowing with donations. The area outside the cafe became a makeshift freezer (at 20 degrees, it worked out well), and Ms. Ayala began putting some products in her car to help handle the overflow.

“As a business owner, you have a platform, and you can do what you want,” Ms. Ayala said, adding, “This is our new normal now.”

Kingfield, we are absolutely blown away. 🤎 ✨�

Yesterday was incredible, and the donations have continued to pour in all morning. Looking at the stacks of supplies filling our space, we are reminded once again that this is so much more than just a cafe, it’s a place where neighbors truly show up for one another.

To everyone who has swung by with bags of rice, pasta, and staples: thank you. Your generosity is going directly to support the hardworking staff of our local businesses while they are away from work and other Kingfield families in need. We are beyond grateful to witness this kind of heart.

For those who want to help but can’t make it in person: We’ve heard from many of you asking for a way to contribute from afar. We are meeting with several neighborhood groups tomorrow to coordinate online donation options for those who can’t physically reach a drop-off site.

We’ll share those details as soon as we have them. In the meantime, thank you for being the light in our community.

Hi neighbors! 🤎

Our little community has always been about more than just coffee—it’s about the energy and connections we share, especially when things get tough. Right now, several of our favorite neighborhood businesses have made the difficult choice to close their doors to ensure the safety of their staff.

We want to make sure those teams feel the heart of our community while they are away from work, so we are hosting a Food Drive right here at the cafe.

Looking back on 2025, we’re feeling immense gratitude for all your support ❤️✨

It feels like just yesterday we were racing to get the space ready, and seeing you all actually fill these seats has been more than we ever could have imagined. Since that first morning in September, you’ve turned our “little community” dream into a reality.

From the energy of the Grand Opening party to the quiet moments sharing local stories over a morning coffee, every connection made this year has been so special. We’ve loved collaborating with our team to develop the signature drinks and baked goods that fill our cases. It’s also been an honor to showcase local artists on our walls and to partner with local businesses to offer something unique that helps bring a little joy to your day. But most of all our hope is that we’re able to be that neighborhood spot you can count on.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our friends, family, and every neighbor who swung by. Our staff deserve a special thank you as they embody the heartbeat of our cafe. Their care and attention to detail create the offerings you love, and their kindness is evident with every interaction they share with our customers.
