Coming back to your alma mater is sweet. Coming back to your alma mater to serve ice cream? Even sweeter. This was all too fun for me!

I graduated from Wayzata in 2000 and still call it the “new high school”—even though it opened back in 1997! Once a Trojan, always a Trojan. 💙💛

The making of the Gold Rush.

This is one of the newest sundaes on the truck and we love to make it — peanut butter and salted caramel sauces, waffle cone crunch, whipped cream and a finishing touch of edible gold glitter.

Tell me your dream combo in the comments and I might build it next.

New Student Orientation at St. Catherine University this year meant we got to help welcome in a whole new class of Katies! 💜

250 students came through for sundaes, floats, and soft serve. Watching that first-day nervous energy turn into everyone laughing in line was just the kind of welcome I was hoping they’d have. Welcome to St. Kate’s class of 2030! It was so fun to see you enter this exciting new chapter.

Ice cream has this weird way of bringing people together, weddings, company picnics, a kid’s birthday party, all of it. That’s the whole reason I started this. I had the idea for The Sota Fountain years before I actually started the business. After more than a decade in corporate marketing, I left at the end of 2024 and finally decided to go for it — to build something of my own that could bring moments of joy to my community.

Now I get to be part of weddings, birthdays, company celebrations and ordinary summer days. Seeing people gather around the truck, enjoying something simple together is my favorite part.

Twin Cities Orthopedics first booked us for an employee appreciation event back in May, and then invited us back again in July! That is the best feeling right there.

After our first event, Stacy shared “I heard so many great things about the Ice Cream and the service! Staff also commented on how cute it was that it was you and your father serving the ice cream! We will absolutely be reaching out for you to come back this summer!” And they did, “We will most definitely have you back, everyone loved the ice cream, again!” Knowing a host has already saved our number for next time means more than I can say.

Thank you Stacy and Twin Cities Orthopedics for bringing us back. If you are looking for an event partner you can call again next season, fill out our inquiry form linked in our bio and tell us what you are planning.

6am, truck’s loaded, and I already have sprinkles somewhere I shouldn’t.

Event prep mornings are always a fun type of chaos, double checking the mix, loading more than I think I’ll need, coffee that’s already gone cold by the time I’m on the road.
