Huge thanks to for shouting out our Lemon Tart in the ! 🍋

It feels good to see the hard work our pastry chefs do get some well-deserved recognition. If you've made your way down out front entry stairs, there's a high chance you've seen our best bakers in action— shaping dough, crafting raspberry caviar, simmering compote, you name it. Each and every one of our dessert components starts with real ingredients. Nothing premade, nothing artificial, just bold, unforgettable flavors made from scratch.

Come get a taste for yourself and see what happens when serious craft and a little creativity come together. If you haven't already, check out Star Tribune Going Out for lots of fun and tasty happenings in the Twin Cities!

Jeff Ray and The Stakes has become a fixture in the Twin Cities roots and Americana scene, and attending a show could tell you why; a commanding sound, seamless musicianship, and an undeniable sense of spontaneity that keeps every performance fresh. The band debuted with an impromptu performance for NPR’s Radio Heartland, having never actually rehearsed together as a full trio leading up to that point. Clearly things clicked into place because nearly 17 years later, the band is still performing together, bringing the same sense of curiosity and musical freedom to every show.

For Jeff, that creative spirit is rooted in a deep appreciation for the musicians who came before him. If he could share a stage with any musician, living or dead, he’d choose slide-guitar legend Duane Allman (of the legendary Allman Brothers). Jeff credits Allman’s fearless playing and ability to transform a song—to shift it into an entirely different space—as a profound influence on his own approach. It’s a fitting choice for a musician whose work with the Stakes is rooted in tradition, but never content to simply stay there.

Looking to catch the group in person? You can find Jeff Ray & The Stakes right here at Hell’s Kitchen every fourth Saturday from 10am–1pm, including THIS Saturday, August 22nd for their high-energy brunch residency. If you can’t make it to the restaurant, they have plenty of other stops on the horizon, including performances at the 331 Club on September 1 and Peavey Plaza on September 9. Jeff is also hitting the road for a special solo set at Wussow’s Concert Cafe in Duluth on September 18.

After nearly two decades of playing together, Jeff Ray & the Stakes are a great example of what makes the Twin Cities music scene special. Their advice to fans is simple: support the artists and the venues that make original music possible. Show up for the shows, throw a tip their way, join their email list, or take home a piece of their work. Every bit of support helps keep the local music community vibrant—and, as Jeff puts it, helps turn it into an unstoppable force.

Show up and show your support for our home state’s great northern wilderness. We’ve all seen it– the Boundary Waters Canoe Area suffered a major blow this year. With tens of thousands of acres already burned, and wildfires still ongoing, this sacred landscape needs our help more than ever. From today through Friday (8/21), we’re running a drink special with 100% of sales going to United Way of Northeastern Minnesota, who are currently working to help rebuild communities in Lake, Cook, and St. Louis counties while monitoring the ongoing and evolving situation.

And as if you needed another reason to support our neighbors in the north, there’s a pretty damn tasty beverage in it for you too. Our badass bar manager put together the Boreal Bramble just for this occasion. Inspired by his outings in the area, this cocktail features Vikre Boreal Spruce gin, Ford's gin, Chambord, mixed berry syrup, and lemon juice. It’s fizzy, refreshing, and a perfect libation for the tail end of Summer.

Pay us a visit this week to help us show some love to one of the most (if not THE most) beautiful places in Minnesota. If you can’t make it in, or would just prefer to donate directly, you can find a link to the United Way of Northeastern Minnesota donation page HERE.

Meet the head honcho of our service staff. Kyler’s grandmother has been a Hell’s Kitchen regular for nearly 20 years, so when he joined the team as a server back in 2018, he felt like a natural fit. With an affinity for hospitality and some effortless charm, it was no surprise to anyone when Kyler worked his way up the ranks to become our Service Manager. These days he spends quite a bit more time in the background– making sure our waitstaff are supported and reaching their full potential. But no amount of responsibility could pry Kyler away from what he loves most in the industry; direct face-to-face service.
Kyler says one of his favorite memories in recent years was working Dinner Du Nord and getting a new opportunity to personally manage guest experience from beginning to end. Between the electric energy of the evening, working alongside the coworkers he loves, and the open-air setting right on Nicollet Mall, Kyler said it’s some of the most fun he’s had on a shift in a long time.
So what’s Kyler’s go-to order? Easy pick: a spicy, veggie-loaded Impossible Burger with pepperjack cheese, fajitas, jalapeños, cilantro, and a touch of mayo. He pairs that with a lemon vinaigrette-tossed side salad for a nourishing meal that won’t slow him down.
Throw Kyler a hello next time you stop in! Knowing him, he’ll be the one to initiate.
