Hello dear friends of Sen Yai Sen Lek and Dipped & Debris,
We (co-owners Joe & Holly Hatch-Surisook) have some news to share: After nearly 14 years in the restaurant business, we have decided to close this chapter of our lives. Our last day of operations for both restaurants will be Saturday, April 23rd. [deep breath; long pause]. We will miss Sen Yai Sen Lek and Dipped & Debris.
Though we didn't grow up here, we are BIG FANS of long Minnesota good-byes! So we are giving ourselves a couple of months to continue to welcome you to our restaurants, to share food and laughs and memories, to celebrate all the good things these spaces have been, and to say thank you and good-bye.
We wish we were writers or poets or something so that we could eloquently put into words what having our restaurants has meant to us. How much all of YOU in our communities have meant to us. We have tremendous gratitude for all of the people whose lives have intersected with ours, whether once or hundreds of times or somewhere in between. There are many stories, their threads woven through the food and these spaces, some we know well and many we may not but all important to the identity of Sen Yai Sen Lek and Dipped & Debris. We are grateful for them all.
Most importantly, our sincere gratitude to our friends and colleagues with whom we have had the honor of working alongside every day -- people whose unique personalities have helped to make Sen Yai Sen Lek and Dipped & Debris the places that they are, who have been a part of this home. Some have been here for many many years; many current and former staff have contributed mightily to building these businesses at various points in time. We are indebted to each of them, and thankful for the opportunity to work alongside them.
We will be here as much as humanly possible over the next couple months to welcome you & thank you. We hope you will come in and visit us! Our sincere appreciation to our Sen Yai Sen Lek, Dipped & Debris, and Northeast Minneapolis communities!
