FIKA is the American Swedish Institute's award-winning New Nordic inspired cafe. We were named "Best Lunch in Minnesota" by the Star Tribune, and our outdoor courtyard is one of the hidden gems of the Twin Cities' dining scene. In Sweden, "fika" is a daily break, traditionally involving coffee and treats. But fika is about much more than caffeine and carbohydrates - it's a Swedish social institution, where friends sit down and chat about life and current events. From espresso and pastries to farm-fresh salads and open-face sandwiches, FIKA features traditional Swedish delicacies alongside modern interpretations of the New Nordic Cuisine. With the Turnblad Mansion in full view, guests dining at FIKA can choose from an ever changing seasonal menu dedicated to our regional ingredients and Nordic traditions.

We love the great Minnesota get-together, but if you’re looking to skip the lines and avoid the crowds, we’ve got just the place.

Try a Nordic twist of the Manhattan using Danish aquavit, sour cherry and black pepper mead, and cherry bitters, or go for a Summer Collins made with cucumber-infused gin, strawberry syrup, lime juice, and club soda.

Stop by FIKA Café this weekend and enjoy a handcrafted cocktail on the patio!
