High Hope's Free Kitchen

High Hope's Free Kitchen "Our mission is to provide a grassroots bridge between ourselves/those who wish to donate, and those who need food.

We direct our funds/donations directly to the affected areas by using our experience to utilize assets and provide for the community."

We are very pleased to say that over the last couple days we have been able to contribute:
- Over 65 Gallons of fresh, from scratch soups.
-20 full loaves of fresh ciabatta
- 80 portions of fresh Lebanese pita
- 50 lbs of hand cut home frites with candied bacon and Creole seasoned roasted garlic aioli.

We have been able to do this simply because of the support we have received from donations, the tireless efforts of our crew, and the amazing support and acceptance by those who have pointed us in the right direction and made sure the food had the proper outlet to get where it was best used.

We have met some of the most hard working, loving, inspiring, and passionate people we've ever encountered. There are many strong, beautiful souls here. Their incredible dedication to fighting the long and daunting battle against those who wish to harm our mother earth, destroy our land, and poison our waters is something we will hold in our hearts forever.

Stop Line 3

Honor the Earth

We offer our gratitude to the local Indigenous community that accepted us in to help in whatever little way we could
We offer deep thanks to every individual who helped us flesh this trip out, and keep our little dream job a reality.

As long as we can do it with support from donations,
As long as we can scrape some money together out of our own pockets,
We Won't Stop.
We will keep serving food and coordinating trips every chance we get to get our crew together again.
We Won't Stop and We Know You Won't Either.

Thank You All So Much.
We Are So Grateful

Stationed up near Palisade, MN is a camp of water protectors near an Enbridge Line 3 construction site. We have the honor of helping feed and rejuvenate our brothers and sisters here and hope to come back next week to do the same.
Come volunteer your time and energy here and participate in this critical moment! Lots of people come up for the weekend or even a day just to be present and take a stand and help maintain this camp of water protectors.

Thank you Sunni Leilani for making us feel so welcome and coordinating so much and bringing such a contagious bright and warm energy to the experience out here. β€οΈβœŠπŸΌπŸ–€βœŠπŸ½πŸ’›

Hi everyone. Welcome to 2021. We are banding together again to support our brothers and sisters on the frontlines of the Line 3 tar sands oil pipeline construction in northern Minnesota this weekend. And we need your help! Please consider donating to help finance some hot meals for our water protectors. Even if it’s a few dollars, I know money is really tight right now, but we can do this and this pipeline affects us ALL.

Anyone who can’t afford to spare the cost of a coffee please reach out to us, we can use your time to help elsewhere. β€οΈβœŠπŸ½πŸ’›βœŠπŸΌπŸ–€

Hello everyone! We just wanted to run through a quick update of what we are doing over here at the free kitchen. First off thanks again deeply to anyone who has donated food, funds, and support. We are so grateful for everything and the community has shown great appreciation for what your dollars and good will have been able to provide. We have been discussing how to make this a more long term sustainable project, because we do have some funds left after the Juneteenth event. However, we all also cannot sustain the 16+ hour workdays everyday within our small crew (as we did almost every day for the first few weeks) forever. We are heavily committed to our mission. We also dont make a dime and have our own bills to pay and families to provide for when we're not at HHFK. Noting that, it's challenging to do an "every other day" or "a day here and there approach" since alot of our stocked items are fresh and highly perishable, as was intentional from the start. We have settled upon the action of having the saved funds from our business account put away and when we all can, getting together to cook for a few-days/a week or more at a time. This way we are able to get the most out of our/your money and are still able to provide the same food quality and service that we set out to. No cut corners. No lowered standards. Ever. It's clear that the need in our community is still and will always be there. It's also clear that this movement isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We look forward to serving the community further. We love you. Stay Fed. Stay Well. Stay Strong. Black Lives Matter. - The HHFK Crew.

Hey fam, got a favor to ask of anyone living in the area.
We have a High Hopes member and dear friend who needs a place to stay for 3 nights. Talon and I have been hosting him for almost 3 awesome weeks but it’s wearing on the roommate situation. Our friend Dj Rankin has been a traveling activist (came from being at Standing Rock for a couple years) and helped us with High Hopes Free Kitchen since day one when we were out feeding this community.
He’s super chill, has awesome stories to share, and you know he’s a great cook (made us French onion soup and bread pudding and all kinds of good stuff). Love the guy and totally vouch for him. Would anyone be able to spare a couch or tent space in their yard for a fellow earth protector and community server for a few days?

Setting up for the day! Its beautiful weather, beautiful people, and beautiful food! Todays menu, we have a small amount of vegan curry left, a new vegan garden veggie, chili with beef, turkey and cheese with tomato and greens sandwich, ham and cheese with bacon and greens sandwich! Come on out, there will be a donation table next to us for all types of goods and as usual Voices From the Ashes will have their stage set up talking about the issues and bringing a message of togetherness and love! Spread the word! ✊❀
