Friday, October 24th, the Annex of Terror haunted house in Mineola will be open for their annual “Blackout Night” 👻
You will get to go through the haunted attraction in the dark, all lights out, with a single glow stick to guide your way. Can you make it out? Or will you be captured forever?!

Whether you’ve been through the Annex of Terror before, or if this is your first time, this will be an opportunity for a completely unique experience… going in blind!
The Annex of Terror is located at 119 N Johnson St Mineola, Texas 75773 and open starting at 7:30pm until 12am or when business ends.
Adults (ages 13+) are $20 per person and Children are $10 per person. Fast pass and multi-haunt tickets are available.

Don’t miss this year’s chance to experience BLACKOUT NIGHT! And make sure to come back on one of the other open nights to get the full lights-on experience, too ✨

Looking for something fun to do this Halloween season?
We have an opportunity for you!

All three of our locations are open for 2025! We are open each weekend in October plus Thursday October 30th and Saturday November 1st. Do you want to have fun scaring folks all across East Texas? This is the perfect chance! If you or your friends would like to join our haunt family, shoot us a message!

You do not have to attend every night, and you can pick which location you’d like to haunt at. We do have costumes and makeup available, but if you have your own, let us know! We also run “Best Scare Actor” contests each night based on customer votes for all the actors with cool prizes including cash, and we provide food every night as well.
More information available upon request! Whether this is your first time being a haunt actor, or your 50th, we’ve got you covered 🎃

Vendor Applications Are Now Open!

The 8th Annual Tyler Area Vampire Ball will be held on Saturday, February 14th at The Annex Entertainment Venue (119 N Johnson St in Mineola, Tx). We are looking for weird, interesting, and unique vendors to fill our Ball! If you are interested in joining us this year, please read the information below and then fill out a vendor application using the link provided.

Vendor applications will be accepted until December 31st, 2025 for a base fee of $45. Early Bird applications will be accepted until August 30th for a fee of $35 instead. The booths are 8x8 as standard, but there is a little wiggle room on this. If you have a concern, please contact us.

Inside vendor locations are on a first come, first serve basis. If an indoor spot is available, it will be offered first. If they are full, we will offer an outdoor spot.

Once your application is received, you will be contacted within 72hrs of submission for further instructions on vendor fee payment if accepted.

✨⏳ITINERARY⏳✨

Creatures of Day & Dark, Light & Night…

We announce the official itinerary for the first annual “A Midsummer Night’s Ball” ✨

1PM - The day time portion “Creatures of The Light” begins. It is FREE admission and all ages. Fun for the whole family, with vendors, games, performances, food trucks, contests and more!
2PM - Nordic Sands will join us for a combo of fire and bellydance in a powerful story of power and love. Also, the 1989 Batman movie will be playing at the Historic Select Theater with FREE admission
3:30PM - Stick Pony Race outside the Annex Entertainment Venue hosted by Houkreative Creations. Prizes given to winners and participants, and coconuts are available for audience to make hoof sounds with (as made famous by Monty Python & The Holy Grail)
4PM - Shakespearean Monologue Competition in the Main Performance Area. Show off your theatrical skills and do your best Shakespeare performance. Prizes given to the winner, and audience members will be the judges. Printed monologues will be provided
4:15PM - Last call for final bids on Silent Auction Items
4:30PM - Silent Auction Winners will be notified. Winners must be present or it will go to runner up. Payment and pick-up for winnings will be located at the front desk of Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe
4:45PM - “Legend” starring Tom Cruise, Tim Curry, and Mia Sara will be showing at The Historic Select Theater. Tickets are $6 per person, and VIP pass holders will receive a free admission voucher they can present at the box office.
5PM - Break for Dinner. We recommend trying some local spots during this time!
6:45PM - Creature of the Night, the night time portion of the event opens its doors. Join us for our adult dance party! It is Ages 18+, $12 per person, and BYOB for ages 21+. IDs will be checked at the door.
7:30PM - Commencement speech from the Royal Court of Tyler
8PM - Dance Hour with DJ Requiem. Open dance floor with music to get you blood pumping and you feeling good
9PM - Ambient LED light performance by Nordic Sands. They will be joining us once more to being a spectacular light show while DJ Requiem keeps the music flowing
10PM - Surprise Musical Guest Performance for a fantasy inspired set. Who is the mystery guest? Come and find out!
12AM - So long & see you next year! The event closes, and will return next Midsummer!

✨🎭CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT🎭✨

At 4PM, we will be hosting a Shakespearean Monologue Contest at A Midsummer Night’s Ball! The contest will take place in the Main Performance Area outside of The Historic Select Theater. Test your theatrical skills by performing your best monologue and the audience will be the judge! We will provide printed monologues to read, and we will have prizes for the winner of the contest. Show off your best Shakespearean performance this Saturday the 21st!

Ashley Storm, who we have enjoyed working with many times in the past has joined us for A Midsummer Night’s Ball! Ashley will be reading tarot for guests of the Ball from 1pm-5pm, and she will be located right outside the entrance of Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe. Come get some cosmic insight and sit with Ashley for a tarot reading this Saturday!

✨💫 SILENT AUCTION💫✨

This Saturday at A Midsummer Night’s Ball…
We will be hosting a silent auction!

From 1pm-4:30pm you can bid on a variety of fantasy themed items, costume pieces, and bundles. Proceeds are split between funding the next Ball and a donation to the Historic Select Theater and Lake Country Playhouse!

Rules:
1. You are welcome to bid as often as you would like to, on as many items as you would like that fit your personal budget.
2. There is a minimum bid amount you must meet for the first bid, as well as a minimum increment amount that each subsequent bid must increase by. (Ex. If the minimum bid is $5, the first bid must be $5. If the bid increment is $1, then the next bid must be $6 or more.)
3. Winners will be announced at 4:30PM and you must be present at the Ball to win, or it will go to the next to last bid. A phone number must be left along with your bid so that you may be texted/called to alert you if you win.
4. To collect your winnings, you may head over to Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe, pay and collect your items.

✨🐎STICK PONY RACE🐎✨

At 3:30pm this Saturday at A Midsummer Night’s Ball, Houkreative Creations will be hosting a stick pony race. The race is fun for all ages, and audiences participation is also encouraged! Coconuts will be available to make the signature horse-hoof sounds (made famous by Month Python & The Holy Grail). Prizes will be given to participants and of course the winner of the race. It will take place on the sidewalk in front of the Annex Entertainment Venue, next to Houkreative Creations’ vendor booth. Come ride into battle on your mighty steed!
