While being honored in her hometown of McComb, Mississippi, Brandy received the key to the city and an official proclamation recognizing her impact. She also announced a new partnership between the Norwood Kids Foundation and C.D. Higgins Middle School to help more students access band equipment and opportunities in the arts.

Unfortunately, much of the online conversation shifted away from her achievements and focused on her appearance, with many commenting on her recent weight loss.

It reminded many people of how Chadwick Boseman was mocked over his appearance before the public learned he had been privately battling cancer.

Whether someone is healthy or facing personal struggles, we rarely know what they’re carrying behind the scenes.

Kindness costs nothing, and it’s always worth remembering that there’s often a story we cannot see. ❤️
