Inspired by the old nostalgic romance of great American steakhouses, Jack Sosnowski, owner and CEO, took the best elements of steakhouses across the nation, and added in a local flare to create the Rare Steakhouse experience. Meet our Back of House team. While our Captains deliver the Rare experience in the dining room, it all begins right here in the kitchen. From early morning prep to lunch and dinner service, cleaning and butchering our proteins, building recipes, and cooking side by side, this team works tirelessly to deliver the experience you all know and love.

Fun fact: Chef Roman has been with Rare nearly since the beginning — close to 8 years. We’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from dishwasher to sauté and broiler, and now working the pass, all while attending school and serving in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Jesús joins us with experience from several well-known Milwaukee establishments and steakhouses, bringing a strong passion for precision, quality, and great hospitality. Since joining the team, Chef Roman and Jesús have been working side-by-side behind the grill, making sure every steak that leaves our kitchen is cooked to absolute perfection.
