Wizard Works Brewing is hiring a Part-Time Bartender / Cellarman for our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.
This dual role combines customer-facing taproom hospitality with hands-on back-of-house brewery operations, making it the perfect entry point for someone passionate about the craft b**r industry.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member who can engage with our community in the taproom while assisting with cellar tasks to maintain the highest quality of our brews.
Weekend availability is required, and the cellar work will cap at about 10 hours a week with room to grow as you learn our system.
Role Breakdown & Key Responsibilities - Taproom Hospitality (Bartender)
Deliver excellent customer service, greeting guests, explaining our current draft lineup, and pouring pints with precision.
Share your passion for craft b**r by guiding customers through tastings, describing flavor profiles, and sharing the story behind our brews.
Manage taproom logistics, including opening/closing duties, operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, and handling transactions accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the taproom, bar area, and guest seating spaces.
Promote brewery initiatives, such as the Wizard Works Mug Club, special releases, and upcoming taproom events.
Brewery Operations (Cellarman — Max 10 Hours/Week)
Assist with cellar operations, including keg washing, sanitizing fermentation vessels, and moving inventory safely.
Monitor b**r quality, ensuring draft lines are clean, gas blends are correct, and b**r is served at optimal temperatures.
Support packaging days, helping with canning, bottling, or kegging operations as needed.
Adhere to strict safety and sanitation protocols to maintain standard operating procedures in the production space.
Note: This side of the role offers clear room to grow in hours and responsibilities as you gain experience with our brewing operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Enthusiasm for craft b**r and a strong desire to learn more about the brewing process and flavor profiles.
Must have open weekend availability (Friday through Sunday), as these are our busiest and most critical shifts.
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, high-energy approach to customer service.
Physical capability to lift heavy loads (up to 55 lbs frequently and move full kegs with assistance) and stand for extended periods.
Previous experience in bartending, hospitality, or a production brewery environment is a plus, but a passion for b**r, reliability, and a strong work ethic are our top priorities.
Must meet local age requirements to serve alcohol in the state of Wisconsin and hold (or be willing to obtain) a Milwaukee bartender's license/operator's permit.
