Summer’s here and apparently people still gotta eat.

So yeah, we’re opening the books again. Catering. Private dinners. Late-night backyard parties. Weddings where nobody remembers the vows but remembers the food. Maybe a private chef if the mood feels right.

Over the years we’ve cooked in parking lots, rooftops, markets, tiny kitchens, loud kitchens, and places we probably shouldn’t have been cooking in. Somewhere along the way people kept asking us to bring SapSap outside the walls too.

So here we are.

If you want something safe and predictable, there’s plenty of that already. But if you want smoke in the air, sticky rice on the table, loud laughs, cold drinks, and food that actually tastes like somebody gave a damn hit us up.

Summer doesn’t last long. Neither do good nights.

Thank you Milwaukee Magazine

“Alex Hanesakda doesn’t see himself as an activist, per se. After winning a contest at Milwaukee Asian Fest in 2010 for his Lao-style egg rolls, Hanesakda started catering, later launching a retail food line and doing pop-ups to showcase the bold flavors that define his family’s native Laos – flavors overshadowed, historically, by the cuisine of neighboring Thailand.

This Friday we’re releasing our new hot sauce/dip: Jeow B**g.

A smoky Lao chile jam layered with makrut lime leaf, galangal, and finished with just a touch of tamarind heaven. Iykyk.

A true Lao classic — the kind of sauce we grew up putting on everything…

Spicy. Smoky. Herbaceous. Nothing else really like it. Ask for a side of sticky rice to pair with it, thank us later.🤤

Available at both SapSap locations this Friday. Zócalo 3rd Street Market Hall
