What a summer! Newline baristas were hard at work in our neighborhood and cafe - serving up drinks, making delicious food, learning about climate, community development, water quality, and creating a new mural! There is a lot of change all around us and we're excited for what comes next in Silver City and on Pierce Street!

Newline Community Cafe will be having a community lunch and conversation on Wednesday, July 29th, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM! Come join us at 3618 W Pierce St to speak with neighbors and our staff members and learn about the environmental resources in our community!

The importance of our environmental and community health is on everyone's minds these days with extreme spring rains and summer heat waves and air quality alerts! Join us for a lunch time conversation and walk to see what Escuela Verde students have been working on this summer to bolster our community wellbeing and share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas about what we can do as a neighborhood to support our environment and each other!

¡La importancia de la salud ambiental y comunitaria está muy presente en la mente de todos últimamente, dadas las lluvias primaverales extremas, las olas de calor del verano y las alertas sobre la calidad del aire! Acompáñenos a una charla y caminata durante la hora del almuerzo para conocer en qué han estado trabajando este verano los estudiantes de Escuela Verde para fortalecer el bienestar de nuestra comunidad, y comparta sus opiniones, inquietudes e ideas sobre lo que podemos hacer como vecindario para apoyar nuestro medio ambiente y ayudarnos mutuamente.

Rarely do we have space to speak about death and dying.

Escuela Verde students have been participating in a workshop where they've been reading and talking about death from many angles this quarter. Their final product is to facilitate a space for others in our broader community to have this opportunity.

COME HELP CLEAN OUR PARK!!

"We will be going to to clean our neighborhood park on May, 8th from 1-2pm!

We are a small school called Escula Verde. We decided we wanted to clean up our park because we realized there was a lot of trash and we wanted to help make the park a better place to be.

If you can't join us on May 8th, there are other ways you can help keep our park clean: Clean up trash after yourself, use reusable water bottles and food containers, if the garbages are full - let the DPW know using the City of Milwaukee's app or onlinehttps://city.milwaukee.gov/ucc/Click4Action_Guide_in_English"
