Our last day is fast approaching. (Saturday the 25th, in case you didn't know)

Our last week has been bittersweet. We're excited to start our new adventure and maybe sleep in.
But this last week has been filled with goodbyes to people that have become part of our lives. Some have become good friends, some are people that stop in regularly. We're going to miss them all.

But we do want to say that we've had some of the best business neighbors that any coffee shop could ask for... Purple Door Ice Cream, Indulgence Chocolatiers, Avenue M Salon....

They're all fantastic people and were crucial for their support, they definitely deserve your support.

We love everyone that have become our neighbors and friends and we hope to see you all on your own adventures!

It's official, folks. After a little over 9 years, we will be closing down. Our last day will be July 25th.

Between rising costs, long hours and a distinct desire to take it easy, we will be retiring from the cafe business. JoAnn is going to keep teaching and Rob is looking for a new adventure.

We've enjoyed serving you and being a part of your day. We love our neighborhood and hope to come back to visit often.

Thank you so much for supporting us, we couldn't have done it without you.

JoAnn & Rob

We're going to be closed Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th.Please enjoy your holiday and be safe.

-Bach

You aren't your best without a good cup of something strong.

We can make it however you like it, hot, cold, milky or straight-up!

(We'll even make it decaf if you're a self-starter)

Every scone I've ever had was dry, crumbly and incredibly bland. Okay, to be fair, I've had a couple good ones.

Frankly, I self taught myself scones from a recipe and a lot of trial and error. So I don't know how accurate these Brown Sugar Scones actually are, but at this point, I don't care. They're delicious.

The first, most important step in making our Lemon Blueberry Scones is zesting the lemons.

Zesting is labor-intensive, but it results in tiny pieces of the taste filled part of the peel while minimizing the bitter, white pith. It also releases lemon oil which is full of flavor.

We then work this into the sugar before continuing the recipe.

Stop in for one of our Lemon Blueberry Scones and you can taste the hard work in every delicious bite!
