🏛️🏛️🏡🎈 GET INVOLVED: THREE GREAT WAYS TO SERVE MILLIKEN! 🎈🏡🏛️
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your town? The Town of Milliken is seeking dedicated community members to fill immediate vacancies on three of our vital local boards! Whether you are passionate about land development, affordable housing, or community celebrations, we have a seat for you.
1️⃣ The Milliken Planning Commission (1 Seat Open)
👉 What they do: Guided by the Milliken Municipal Code, this statutory board reviews incoming development requests, neighborhood zoning changes, and land-use applications to directly guide the Town Board of Trustees on how Milliken grows!
🗓️ Meetings:
• 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month.
• ⏰ Time: 5:00 PM Work Session | 6:00 PM Regular Meeting at the Milliken Meeting House (1201 Broad Street).
👤 Who can apply? Full-time Milliken residents who do not currently hold a seat on the Board of Trustees (4-year term).
2️⃣ The Milliken Housing Authority (Vacancies Open)
👉 What they do: This vital board works to address local housing needs, promote community options, and advocate for sustainable development to ensure Milliken remains affordable and accessible for our families, workforce, and seniors!
🗓️ Meetings & Location: Milliken Town Hall (1101 Broad Street)
• Work Sessions: 1st Monday of every month at 4:30 PM
• Regular Meetings: 3rd Thursday of every month at 8:30 AM
👤 Who can apply? Dedicated Milliken residents with an interest in community advocacy, housing solutions, or local development.
3️⃣ The Milliken Festival Committee (Several Seats Open!)
👉 What they do: This incredible group of resident volunteers serves as the official planners and coordinators behind our Town's best community events, like Beef 'N Bean Day, Monster Mash, and the Festival of Lights! If you have an eye for event logistics, love marketing, or enjoy coordinating vendors, this is your chance to shine.
🗓️ Meetings & Location: Milliken Town Hall (1101 Broad Street)
• Current Schedule: Meeting every Monday at 4:15 PM (with a great possibility to reduce frequency later in the year).
