One of my cookie nightmares recently became reality. 😩
Every baker has them, the nightmares that keep you double- and triple-checking everything. Forgetting a client’s order until they text that they’re on their way… realizing you didn’t make the right number of cookies despite counting twice… cookies getting damaged… etc.
Well, the day finally came when not one, but TWO of my many cookie nightmares came true. 🙃
First, a few of the cookies broke. Bummer? Absolutely. But thankfully, not a huge deal. We still had a full day before the event, so I could easily remake the broken cookies.
Then came the BIG one.
The ultimate custom cookie sin.
I SPELLED THE BRIDE’S NAME WRONG. 😑😩
Like… HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?! I always double- and triple-check name spellings. ALWAYS. Somehow, this time, I missed it. Despite checking. 🤦♀️
The client let me know around 9:30 that night, and my heart immediately sank. WHAT?!? Cue the instant panic and a full rollercoaster of emotions. 🎢
Thankfully, I was able to remake all of the affected cookies in time, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter or more understanding client. ❤️
So, crisis averted… but WOW. What a night. 😂
Consider this a reminder that even when you’re obsessively checking every detail, sometimes things still slip through the cracks. We’re human, after all! 🫠🍪
And yes… I will be checking every name and order detail a million more times from now on. 😂
