We are a local, family-owned bakery grown out of a love of good food and quality service. We bring a little bit of European café culture where boulangeries dot the neighborhoods, to the suburbs of New Jersey. Our bread and pastry are made from scratch, in downtown Millburn. Pop into our bakery and you'll see our bread bakers at work; scaling ingredients, mixing and shaping loaves, and baking off b
reads. Our pastry program includes a wide range of croissant, puff and Danish doughs. These 'laminated doughs' are our specialty here, produced in our special cold room in the back of our facility. These layers of dough create all of the wonderfully caramelized and flaky pastry you'll experience at Liv Breads, including not only croissant, but babka, rugelach, bourekas, turnovers and fruit-filled Danish. A range of cakes and cookies complements these flaky pastry. Our menu changes regularly, in order to reflect the season at-hand. We have worked hard to source locally and use organic ingredients wherever possible. Our sandwiches and salads are crafted to highlight our breads, baked fresh each morning.

Simple ingredients, lots of patience. Hydrated with loads of water and enriched with olive oil, it bakes up with an airy, open crumb and a crisp golden crust. Made simply with flour, water, olive oil, yeast, and salt, it serves as the foundation for many of our favorites, including our topped focaccia pizza, ciabatta bread, and onion bialy.

Rosh Hashanah is around the corner, and we'll be baking at full speed. Here are a few important notes for Friday:

Our brunch menu and cafe seating will be closed on Friday as we utilize this space for holiday pre-order pick-ups. Our carryout products will still be available (sandwiches, salads, breads, pastries, cakes, coffee, and more!) as well as outdoor seating.

Our daily online ordering system will be closed on Friday. If you do not have a pre-order, please visit us in person to shop our selection of products, including round challah. Availability is limited, and products are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our kiosk at The Mall at Short Hills will have a small selection of holiday products available on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-up purchases only.

Daily online ordering will reopen for Saturday, September 12 pickup.
We will be open regular hours throughout the holiday.

The Yom Kippur pre-order remains open through September 15. Link in bio.

The last weekend of summer is here!

A few of our seasonal favorites , featuring peaches, melon, tomatoes and other seasonal produce will be leaving soon to make way for our Autumn menu additions. Stop by this weekend for one last taste before they're gone.

We're open regular hours all weekend and on Labor Day at our Millburn bakery & café.

The kiosk at The Mall at Short Hills will be open Monday from 10 AM to 6 PM, following the mall's holiday hours.

Our grab-and-go fridge at the Downtown Millburn Bakery & Café is stocked with chef-prepared salads and spreads, ready whenever you are. One salad stocking the fridge is our roasted ocean trout served over a succotash of chickpeas, squash, zucchini, corn, and cherry tomatoes, topped with crispy chickpeas and finished with a vibrant red pepper vinaigrette.

The High Holiday preorder menu is open and ready to take your order! Head over to our preorder page (link in bio or on our website www.livbreads.com), select Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur, choose your pick up time slot, and select from our preorder menu.

Our regular online ordering system will be closed on September 11 and September 20. If you'd like to place an online order for pickup on either of those dates, orders must be placed through the High Holiday Preorder Site.

While the preorder menu items will also be available on our shelves in the days leading up to and during the holiday pickup dates, availability for walk-in purchases cannot be guaranteed. We always recommend placing a preorder so your items are reserved. If there's something you absolutely don't want to miss, a preorder is the best way to make sure it's waiting for you.

The items featured on the preorder menu are the only products that can be reserved in advance for pickup on September 11 and September 20. Looking for something not on the preorder menu? Additional products will be available for purchase in-store when you come to pick up your preorder.
