🪕 TONIGHT: OLD TIME JAM AT DESCENDANTS! 🎶

Once a month, Descendants fills up with the sound of fiddles, banjos, guitars, mandolins, and more – and tonight is the night!

Join us at 7 PM for our Old Time Jam, hosted by the Burnt Mills Highballers. Musicians gather for an evening of traditional Appalachian music, played the way it was meant to be played: together.

And this isn't just something to come watch.

Bring your acoustic instrument and join the circle! Musicians of all experience levels are welcome, with the first hour typically kept especially accessible for players who are newer to the tradition.

Don't play? Come listen. Grab some dinner, order a pint, find a seat, and enjoy one of the coolest nights that happens inside these old walls.

Our Monday Night Darts League gets throwing every Monday at 8 PM.

Whether you're here to chase the bullseye, cheer on your favorite player, or simply enjoy a pint while watching everyone else argue about whose dart was definitely closer, Monday nights are always a good time. 🎯🍺

And there's no need to wait until 8 to get started — Happy Hour runs Monday through Friday from 4-6, so come early, grab a drink and something to eat, and settle in before the darts start flying.

It was another wonderful week at Descendants!

There was plenty happening around here this week—from darts flying and live music filling the room to another round of amazing specials from Chef Ish. And, of course, we couldn't let the week go by without celebrating Joe's birthday!

But our favorite part is always the people who fill this place. Whether you came in for dinner, caught some live music, threw a few darts, raised a birthday glass, or just settled into your usual seat at the bar—thanks for spending part of your week with us.

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOE! 🥃

Joe isn't particularly fond of making things about himself, so we're going to do it for him just this once.

Descendants wouldn't be Descendants without the enormous amount of heart Joe pours into this place.

Over the years, these old walls have become so much more than a place to grab a beer. Friendships have started here. Strangers have become family. People have celebrated milestones here, found community here, laughed until closing time, and walked through the doors knowing they would feel welcomed.

That's the kind of place Joe has helped create: a wonderfully weird little corner of the world where people can show up exactly as they are, find their people, share a drink, learn something new, and become a part of the story.

So today, we're making it about him whether he likes it or not.

Next time you see him, raise a glass and wish him a very happy birthday. And maybe thank him for making this place what it is.

Happy birthday, Joe. Thanks for giving all of us a place to belong.

🎻 LIVE TONIGHT AT DESCENDANTS: BURNT MILLS HIGHBALLERS

Hometown favorites the Burnt Mills Highballers are bringing their high-energy old-time string band sound to the pub tonight – fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, and enough Appalachian tunes to get some feet stomping.

And these guys are VERY local. Their name reaches right back into Milford history: the town was once known as Burnt Mills, while "highball" was an old railroad signal for "full speed ahead". Which is a pretty accurate description of what happens when this crew gets going. 🚂

Come grab dinner, get something good in your glass, and settle in for a night of old-time music with one of our favorite local bands.

This week's specials are here!

Chef Ismael has a little bit of everything this week—from crispy fish tacos and gloriously messy poutine to fresh Jersey tomatoes and a little sneak peek of autumn.

Fried Fish Tacos – Crispy fried fish tucked into warm tortillas with fresh pico de gallo, crunchy shredded cabbage, and a cool, creamy lime crema.

Descendants Poutine – A gloriously indulgent pile of crispy fries loaded with cheese curds and smothered in rich, savory gravy. Proper comfort food.

Caprese Burger – A juicy burger topped with creamy mozzarella, ripe Jersey tomato, fresh basil, and a drizzle of sweet, tangy saba.

Grilled Flank Steak – Tender slices of grilled flank steak served over juicy heirloom tomatoes with shaved red onion and fresh parsley, finished with extra virgin olive oil.

Pan-Seared Chicken Thigh – Juicy chicken thigh served with delicata squash scented with sage and nutty brown butter, garlicky broccolini, and a bright cilantro sauce.
