We have been asked to set up a food tent at the Rock ALS Music Festival in Sheldon on Saturday 9/26. This is a fundraiser to help raise money to fight ALS Disease (also goes by Hop on a Cure).

With all that has to be done to set up our food tent and to staff it to be able to feed 400+ people we unfortunately will be closing the restaurant on this day. Sorry for the inconvenience and we will see you back here on Monday 9/28!!

Just a reminder that Woodby’s Restaurant will be CLOSED today thru Monday!

We will be back to normal hours on Tuesday 9/8/26 and don’t forget Daily Specials and Desserts will be back next week!!

Weekly Specials will be posted on Sunday evenings each week! Below is an idea of what we will be doing…..

Monday’s: Pasta Day

Tuesday’s: Manhattan Day (Beef most weeks but will switch it up every now and then with Turkey or Pork)

Wednesday’s: Bone-In or Boneless Wings

Thursday’s: Meatloaf and the famous Cheese Potatoes

Friday’s: Different sandwiches or wraps each week

Desserts will change weekly and you’ll have 4 each week to pick from!

Thank you to all who attended the Watseka Family Festival and let us feed them at our food tent! We are so thankful for your support and your willingness to stand in line for our food.

To say we were busy is an understatement and we are definitely feeling it today😂

We have been doing this tent for about 4 years now and we cook and purchase more food each year than the last and we still seem to run out of things Saturday evening🤦‍♀️ We went home last night with 1/2 pan of Pulled Pork and 4 buns🫪

I cooked/smoked meat each day for a week before the festival and it was definitely on overload.

We learn something new each time we have a food tent that will hopefully help the next one go smoother. We cut our menu for the Watseka Festival this year by a bit and it was a huge help in getting the food out faster. Poor Donna couldn’t take orders fast enough at night and we had the food out. Maybe next year a second line to take orders so maybe we can get people out of line quicker🤷‍♀️

A huge shout out to the group of volunteers that do all the work and behind the scene stuff that has to be done to put on these events!! We know you have a thankless job and have to field the many complaints from the people that just have to say something negative about everything. We thank you and we know the work you put in throughout the year to make these things run as smooth as possible! The entertainment sounded great both nights!

Thank you to the American Legion Post 23 for all the work you do for the festival and allowing us all to set up in your park for this event! What a great park!

Thank you to our staff (and “just weekend tent staff😂) We couldn’t run these tents without you!! Donna, Randy, Brenda, Caley, Dianna, and Kylee big thanks for all your hard work! And thanks to dad and mom for freezer space and hot water🤪

We have two more tent events in September and we will be putting the trailer up for the winter…..

**Wildcreek Pumpkin Patch grand opening 9/12/26 we will have some food there with my brother Sam and SIL Karey running it for us as we have a wedding to cater that afternoon/evening.

**ALS Rock Festival 9/26/26. We have been asked to set up a food tent for this fundraising event for ALS disease that will be held at a private farm outside of Sheldon. They have many singers coming and featuring one of the guys from the Zac Brown Band (listen to WGFA for the info).

And last but not least a reminder that we will be CLOSED for Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 5th-7th) for a much needed break for us and the girls that work for us!

Woodbys Food Tent at Watseka Family Festival!!
Serving from 11am to 10pm (or until out of food, which usually comes first🤦‍♀️)

Friday night was a busy night for us at the tent! Thanks to all who came out and let us feed them during the festivities! We ran out of Brisket and Pulled Pork, but don’t worry we are restocked for the day!

I will say it again as it always happens no matter what…..COME EARLY if you want Brisket. Yes! I made more than the last years. The cooker/smoker ran non stop all week getting meats ready for this weekend, but the Brisket just sells that well and that fast!

Come out to the festival today and enjoy all the festivities going on all day and then stay for the concert tonight. Last night’s sounded great!

It’s that time of year again!!!!

Watseka Family Festival is this weekend and Woodby’s will have their food tent set up for Friday 8/28 4pm-10pm and Saturday 8/29 11am-10pm (or until out of food).

We cut our menu a bit to try and help get food out a little quicker and more efficiently🤞but we will still have your Woodby Food Tent favorites!!

We have had the cooker/smoker on overtime this week and after a little snafu last night we will finish up all the meats by tomorrow night!

We are going on our 4th year (I think🤔) of setting up at Watseka Festival and every year no matter how well I plan we run out of food on Saturday night. I’ve cooked more meat this week than I thought possible so let’s hope we make it until at least the concerts start on Saturday night🤞🤞
