Central Pastry Shop has a long history of making customers happy. Founded in 1949 in Middletown, Ohio, the full line retail bakery soon developed a reputation for quality, taste and service. The wide eyed children who stared excitedly at the cases of sweet pastries, have grown up. They now bring their own children and grandchildren to share in the traditions and memories of Central Pastry Shop. Vera and John Slamka purchased Central Pastry Shop in 1984 and have operated the bakery for the past 40 years. It remains a full line from scratch bakery using the same recipes that have long given Central Pastry Shop its unique flavors and tastes. The beautifully decorated wedding cake is ready. The bread has that wonderful look and smell of home baked. And the delicious doughnuts are there, waiting to provide, along with a cup of coffee, a burst of morning energy. Central Pastry will be celebrating 77 years this year! 🎉 John and Vera took over ownership in 1984 and Vera has lovingly run the shop for nearly 42 years, serving up sweet treats and even sweeter memories to the community. 🍩❤️ Her joy and love of people, pastries, and our community is felt every day! ✨🥰 Thank you to her CPS Crew who help make the magic happen! ✨✨✨ ㋡ ~ CPS

has been selling donuts and other treats for over 70 years and Vera has been the owner since the 1980’s. As you can see from the video, she is so much fun to talk with and it is no wonder people in Middletown keep coming back to this local classic. Her bakery is famous for selling a special donut called the “ugly” but she told me we better make her look good on camera and that was easy to do! Have you ever been?
