Isaac Sharp, co-founder of Dynamo Coffee Co. has passed away. There is no easy way to say it, but there it is.

Isaac was the lifeblood of Dynamo, always striving to uphold our 3 values - Quality, Integrity, and Community.
Isaac was selfless and was truly loved and cherished by all he knew.

Isaac, you will be sorely missed. Not just as a business partner, but as an older brother, and one of my best and closest friends. You have left a legacy of honor, and we will never forget you for the beautiful spirit you were.

If you knew Isaac personally, we here at Dynamo, and myself personally, extend condolences.

If you did not have the honor of knowing Isaac personally, you missed out on knowing such a fine example of a man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Isaac's family, specifically his wife, Julianna, at this time.

The future of Dynamo Coffee Company will be discussed in due time, but for now we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate through difficult and unknown territories.

In 1963, a few families started a small farming co-op in Valle Del Cauca, Colombia. The goal was to take the small individual coffee farms they owned, and use them to regrow the community in the after-math of recession and social unrest on the heels of a military dictatorship. They focused on growing the families work together, regrowing the rainforest around them, and providing water supplies to their communities, all while providing the best quality coffee.

Fast forward to today, the Cooperative of Cafetaleros del Norte del Valle remains a community of small farms, supported by over 1600 families. Their footprint has grown to supporting over 170,000 acres of rainforest, providing water for 12 municipalities, and offering education to local residents.

They’ve perfected their coffee to the point of it being some of the highest graded coffee in Colombia, winning awards and scoring over 85 out of 100 and being consistent from bean to bean. Their quality far outweighs the large corporations industrializing the coffee environment and hurting their local industry.

We fell in love not only with their beans, but with their story. We hope you will too when you taste the coffee that has been making its way to you from a small dedicated group of families in Colombia since 1963.l

At Dynamo, we aren’t just passionate about our values, we take action to back them up. We believe in three things:

1. providing high-quality, sustainably sourced coffee at a price that beats most cafes.

We have partnered directly with farms in Colombia and local roasteries to ensure that our beans are ethically sourced and of the highest quality, We can point you to the exact farm every cup of coffee was grown from (and the rainforest that the farm is protecting and regrowing.) all for less than half of the typical $5 cup of coffee.

2. Giving as much value and integrity to our customers as possible.
We don’t do cheap freebies and discounts. We like you too much. We do things like free personalized high-end tumblers, glassware, shirts, and more. We answer our DM’s, and if we ever mess up (hey, we’re people) you can bet we will make it right.

3. Using the voice we have to encourage a coffee community, and positive action in our own communities.
We give at least 10% of everything we make and earn back to the communities we serve. And actively encourage our supporters to do the same with things like free pints for friends, referral programs, and more.

Sure, we could tell you our cold-brew subscriptions offer the convenience of enjoying delicious coffee at home, all for less than you’d pay at a coffee shop. But that’s only the beginning of the story...
