โค๏ธ Yep... these are the kinds of stories that warm my heart.
When I talk about kids here in America, I'm not saying all of them. But a lot of them grow up thinking everything is supposed to come easy. Sometimes they don't realize that every reward comes from years of hard work, sacrifice, and only God knows what their parents had to go through to make it happen.
Now imagine growing up in a third-world country, where resources are limited, governments are corrupt, inflation is out of control, and families are just trying to survive. That's a completely different reality.
That's why this story hit me so hard. You can tell Miguel never imagined, not even in a million years, that he would receive a gift like that. It looked like a PlayStation, and I'm about 90% sure that's what it was. For him, that wasn't just another video game. It was something that probably felt almost impossible.
That's exactly why I relate to this story.
Growing up, my dad was the only one working while my mom stayed home taking care of my brother and me. Later on, she got a job too, but even then, the money was just enough to keep food on the table and put decent clothes on our backs. For that, I'll always be grateful.
But there were no luxuries. No extras. No expensive sneakers. Nothing like what many kids in America experience today.
Now don't get me wrongโI love sneakers myself. After coming to this country, working hard, and accomplishing goals I once only dreamed about, I've been blessed to buy as many pairs as I want.
But that's the difference.
When you come from a third-world country, you appreciate the little things because you know what it's like to grow up without them. You understand the value behind every blessing, every opportunity, and every gift.
That's the whole point of this remix.
Much love from your boy, Uncle JJ, and may God bless all the kids around the world, especially kids like Miguel in this video. May they continue to dream big, keep believing, and never lose hope. โค๏ธ
