â¤ď¸ A Story That Touched My Heart
For almost five years, there has been an elderly gentleman who regularly comes to Spring Restaurant for his favorite bowl of chicken pho.
Over the years, he became more than just a customer. We talk, we share stories, and little by little, Iâve gotten to know a small part of his life.
Recently, he told me about his best friend â someone who has been by his side for 50 years.
His friend can no longer stand or walk on his own and now has to live in a nursing home. What touched me the most was learning that he doesnât have family around to care for him.
But he still has his friend.
After 50 years of friendship, this gentleman still visits him, thinks about him, and makes sure he isnât forgotten.
When I heard his story, I told him:
âEvery Wednesday, please stop by Spring Restaurant. Iâll prepare a free meal for your friend. Take it to him so he can have something warm to eat.â
Itâs only one meal. It wonât change his situation or take away what he is going through.
But maybe that warm meal can remind him that someone is still thinking about him. Someone still cares. He has not been forgotten.
This is why I started giving away meals on Wednesdays.
It was never about publicity or recognition. Sometimes we canât fix someoneâs problems, but we can still do something small to make their day a little warmer.
And sometimes, a bowl of chicken pho is more than just food.
It can be a little reminder that you are not alone. â¤ď¸
