Bozo's Restuarant and Oyster Bar

For over 85 years the Bozo's family has been serving the freshest and best seafood in the New Orleans area. The story begins over a century ago when a young man from Podgora pulled up his bootstraps and left his native land for a dream and a chance at a better life for himself and his family in America.Bozo landed in New York City first but soon ran into his fathers best friend who took the young man in and fed him as he was close to starving at this time. Shortly thereafter he put him on a train to South Louisiana to meet up with other Slovonian people who were already heavily involved in the fishing and especially the oyster industry. He started working on oyster boats .Work he alredy knew from his native land.He saved his money and began sending for family members. Soon Bozo Vodanovich had a fleet of his own Oyster boats two of which can be seen on the muriel which covers the entire back wall of the main dining room (The North Star and The I Don't Know)After years of hard work on the boats Bozo decided it was time to settle down a little. He opened an oyster and beer parlor on the 2700 block of St Anne street in New Orleans and the rest is how you say HISTORY........ tune in later for the next chapter in the Bozos Saga
