Kicked off the season at the Blue Compass RV BBQ Bash this last weekend and it was exactly what we needed. Smoke, stress, good food, and getting to see a bunch of familiar faces while meeting some new BBQ people.

Friday night was a rad making our “Island Boy” Glizzy from , and Saturday was an absolute blast while having a few reminders that we have work to do!

Results:
🍗 Chicken, 18th (ouch)
🍖 Ribs, 6th
🐖 Pork, 3rd (First call on pork!)
🐄 Brisket, 13th

We will gladly take the ribs and pork calls, and we are going straight back to work on chicken. The cool thing is we have never gotten a call on our pork and finally did it! Practice, practice, practice, that’s all I can say!

Huge congrats to for GC and their auto to the Jack, and for taking RGC! And congrats to everyone who heard their name called, the field felt stacked.

Ogden, UT!! We’re bringing the heat this weekend!

We are loading up the and heading south for the KCBS BBQ Competition at Blue Compass RV. We can’t wait to fire them up and bring a little of that Idaho flavor down to Utah.

We’re excited to see some familiar faces again and meet everyone else!

Threw down some pork belly burnt ends and chicken drums on the YS1500 for the coworkers to have a bomb lunch!

Smash burgers on our Weber Grills Slate. Used Jared Pullman Good Boy Rub and Tony Ramirez | TFTI BBQ Cajon Honey Rub. That combo on a smash burger was insane! What’s your go to rubs for a smash burger?

What do you do when you have a massive amount of that you wanna smoke on your ?? You improvise and cook it in a giant pan and mix it up every 30 minutes. Will eventually become some smoked when the fat starts to render and we will have some, fingers crossed, bomb confit pork belly burnt ends!

Used some yellow mustard as a binder then tossed them in Pigasus rub, King Craw Cajun Rub, and .bbq Cajon Honey Rub I think these will be a hit at tonight’s Swap Meat pot luck! Hope to see you all there.

Tomorrow is the 2nd annual Boise BBQ Battle at and if you remember this is the first comp we did and ended up taking GC. And one year later we have done several comps now and learned so much. Better yet we have been able to make some amazing friends from around the country because of it. Come check it out, you won’t want to miss this one!

Here is what you can expect:
- FREE BBQ samples including smoked Picanha, smoked tritip, smoked chicken, pulled pork and more!

- Giveaway for the public worth more than $1200! It includes a Gozney Pizza Oven, a $150 voicher from Thomas Cattle Company and a Shun brisket knife from Northwest Knives

- Free entry to everything

- Rub shoulders with some of Boises best amateur barbecuers. Ask them for tips and tricks and maybe… a sample or two

- Demos and knife skills from Northwest Knives
