Some weddings just feel like a love story from the moment you arrive. 💕

Hannah and Justin’s beautiful day at Dillman’s Bay Resort was wrapped in Northwoods trees, lakeside magic, happy hearts, and one very colorful Mexican feast. From the hand-painted Made in Mexico clay pots overflowing with all the good things to the tacos, fresh guacamole, street corn, and every bright little lime on the table—it was a celebration made with love and served with a little extra salsa 🌮💃🏻

What a joy it was to feed the people who came together to celebrate these two sweet souls. Hannah and Justin, may your marriage always be this colorful, this joyful, and filled with plenty of reasons to gather around the table. Congratulations, lovebirds! ❤️✨

I have LOOOOVVVVVED the movie Practical Magic FOREVERRRRRR🖤🌙

The house. The garden. The kitchen. The sisters. The midnight margaritas 😂 That whole slightly wild, romantic, maybe there’s a little magic happening here feeling 😉

And now I get to turn it into food ✨
An upcoming private chef experience is being built entirely around the feeling of one of my favorite movies!! A cozy, whimsical multi-course dinner inspired by gardens, herbs, berries, rosemary, comfort food and, of course…
Midnight Margaritas 💃 🍋‍🟩🌙
No cauldrons. No Halloween gimmicks 😂
Just beautiful food, candlelight, a little nostalgia and enough magic to make you wonder what exactly is growing in that rosemary.

This is the kind of private chef experience I LOVE creating — when dinner gets to become part food, part story and part memory.

And I seriously cannot wait to bring this one to life. ❤️

Remember Sip & Focaccia last winter? 🍺🥖

I’ve been thinking… we should do MORE of that.

Nothing fancy. Nothing stuffy. Just grab a friend, grab a drink, get your hands in some dough and probably make a little bit of a mess. 😂
What would you come make?

🍕 Pizza
🫔 Tamales
🍝 Homemade pasta
🥟 Dumplings
🥖 Sourdough
🥧 Pies
🧀 Build-your-own boards
☕ Tiramisu
…or something completely different?

And I’d LOVE to take these on the road this winter.
Breweries, taprooms, bars and other local hangouts — if you’ve got the drinks and a place for people to gather, I’ll bring the food and the fun. 🍻

Seventeen months in the making 🤍🤍

That’s how long we’ve been talking, planning, changing things, dreaming things up and waiting for Ellie & Peyton’s wedding day to finally arrive.
And what a day it was 😍

I didn't get nearly enough photos of the finished menu because, well… we were a little busy actually feeding a wedding. 😂 But I DID get pictures of something I’ve been ridiculously excited about:

Our live-cut salad station. 🌿

Whole heads of gorgeous, locally grown hydroponic lettuce from Hillstar Farm became part of the display itself. Guests chose their greens and cut them fresh, right there at the station, then they built their salads with fresh vegetables, herbs, toppings and dressings.

Basically, we turned salad into a culinary experience 🤤

And LOOK AT THAT LETTUCE 😍

This is exactly the kind of food service I LOVE creating—fresh, local, a little unexpected and beautiful enough that the food becomes part of the wedding décor.

But after 17 months of planning, my favorite moment had nothing to do with food.

Ellie and Peyton came by the kitchen and announced:

“We’re married!”
And I cried😂😭❤️
For 17 months they had been the couple whose wedding we were planning.
And suddenly they were husband and wife.

That one got me.
Ellie & Peyton, thank you for trusting us with such a huge part of your day. It was beautiful, it was joyful, the dance floor was packed…
and yes, I'm absolutely going to brag about that lettuce. 🌿😂❤️
