Today’s pastry case is looking especially good with ham and cheese croissants, cinnamon sugar puff pastry bites, strawberry cream donuts, strawberry glazed donuts, and chocolate glazed donuts, plus plenty of fresh coffee to go with them.

Today’s specialty is our NEW pumpernickel bread! Traditionally enjoyed for centuries in Germany and across Northern Europe, pumpernickel is known for its deep, earthy flavor, hearty texture, and remarkable keeping quality. It’s wonderful toasted with butter, piled high with sandwich fixings, or enjoyed alongside a warm meal. Simple food has a way of speaking for itself. 🥰🌾

Good morning, y’all! ☔️

Rainy mornings have a way of reminding us to slow down, and they also remind us not to take a good cup of coffee for granted. 😌☕️

Coffee historian Mark Pendergrast once wrote that the perfect cup of coffee is “nothing short of a miracle.” And he’s right! Every cup depends on countless little details coming together: the climate where the coffee was grown, the altitude, the soil, when the cherries were picked, how they were processed, dried, roasted, and finally brewed. 😵‍💫 Even a small change at any step can completely transform the flavor.

That’s one of the reasons we love our signature espresso. 🌿 It blends washed and honey processed coffees, creating a smooth, balanced cup with notes of caramel and hazelnut. Every shot is the result of countless careful decisions.

We are back, y’all! 🥰

Leaving Menard for a week of summer break, gave us a few reminders:

- This town has some pretty wonderful people. Thanks to everyone who asked about our trip and welcomed us back. Y’all are the reason this place feels like home 💖

- Menard is even prettier after a good rain (we’ll admit we’re a little biased 😉).

- A well-brewed, balanced cup of coffee is harder to find than we remembered.

- And artisanal pastries? Even harder.

So we’re happy to be back doing what we love! Brewing great coffee, pulling handcrafted pastries from the oven, and preparing fresh lunches, including sandwiches on our housemade sourdough.

Speaking of pastries… 👀🍋 our Belgian Buns are back this week! Fluffy brioche dough with housemade lemon curd and sultanas topped with white icing and a candied cherry. They’re a showstopper for a reason! ✨

Come in and say hi! We can’t wait to catch up with y’all. ☺️

Happy Fourth of July, y’all! 🇺🇸

Did you know the earliest Fourth of July celebrations centered around community feasts? Nearly 250 years later, not much has changed. Good food is still one of the best ways to bring people together. ❤️🤍💙

That sounds like the perfect excuse to enjoy a few classic American treats! Today we’ve got specialty banana pudding and mini peach cobblers in the case. Our peach cobbler is made from one of our great-grandma’s recipes, so it’s a family favorite that’s stood the test of time. Some traditions are simply too good not to keep 🥰🍑

And if you’re in the mood for something savory, our brisket pockets are ready too! 🤩 Filled with slow-cooked brisket and wrapped in flaky puff pastry, they’re an easy breakfast or lunch before the festivities—or the perfect bite if you’d rather let someone else handle the barbecue for a change.

The Fourth of July is almost here! 😆🎇
In true American fashion, we’ve got an abundance of delicious food waiting for y’all today… and honestly, that’s exactly how the holiday should be. 🥰

Every Fourth of July needs a solid grilling game plan! Our freezers are stocked with local steaks and hamburger patties from ready for the grill. Special today and tomorrow, we also have fresh batches of our housemade potato salad in the cooler—the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. We’re pretty sure it’ll make all your Southern grandmas proud. 😉

Looking for a little red, white, and blue… without the Red 40? 😂 We’ve got that covered too! Fresh cream & strawberry donuts are in the case today, along with all your favorite scratch-made bakery treats.

Looking ahead to tomorrow? We’ll have fresh peach cobbler and banana pudding ready for the celebration 🍑🌿

Did you know sourdough has a fascinating place in American history? During the westward expansion of the 1800s, many pioneers carried sourdough starter with them because it was one of the most reliable ways to bake bread along the Oregon Trail. Later, some California Gold Rush miners were even said to “cuddle” their starters at night to keep the wild yeast warm and alive. You really can’t make this stuff up. 😂

If you’re looking to bring home a fresh loaf, we’ve got housemade sourdough in the case today! Whether you’re building sandwiches at home or ordering one here, it’s the same fresh sourdough we make from scratch. It’s also the bread behind our Sicilian and Turkey sandwiches. 🌿🥪

Today we’re enjoying the sweet side of life 😌☕️

Caramel is a tried-and-true classic! But have you ever tried our housemade caramel sauce? Butter, vanilla, and toasted sugars come together to make the perfect topping our caramel pecan bread pudding. It’s rich, comforting, and definitely meant to be shared. Bring a friend for this one! 😉🧡 Of course, we also have our s’mores bread pudding if you’re craving a summer classic.

Salted caramel macchiatos are also on the menu for the season! What is a macchiato? It’s a layered espresso drink made with creamy milk and rich espresso. Our seasonal version adds salted caramel, finished with caramel sauce and a caramel drizzle for a buttery sweetness that pairs beautifully with bold coffee. ☕️

Anyone else hit that afternoon moment where you realize there isn’t a dinner plan? 😂

By Friday afternoon, the week has usually won a few rounds. If dinner never officially made it onto the schedule, we’ve got you covered! 😊 Fridays are the one day we’re open until 6:00, giving you a little extra time to grab an easy dinner, a coffee for the drive home, or a few weekend treats.

Pick up a fresh King Ranch chicken casserole from today’s batch, one of our other take-and-bake favorites, a loaf of fresh sourdough, sandwiches, salads, or dessert for later… and maybe a donut for quality control. 👀🍩✨
