“Cakes and Cards” is officially here! Our GM, Jack, had an idea and it has REALLY caught on.

One guest remarked, “I used to have to drag my kids out of bed on the weekends. I just couldn’t get them motivated. Now they are waking me up and wanting to get up here (The Pancake Shop) as soon as possible to eat and pick out their card. They even got themselves dressed” 😂

Come by 4838 Summer Ave. right next to Midsouth Hobbies to check it out. We have all the delicious pancakes, waffles and French toast to satisfy their hunger.

We wanted to introduce y’all to James. He is a Vietnam Veteran that has been dining with us for many, many years. James has a boisterous, joyful voice and a smile that never goes away.

His favorite dish is the Everyday Special. Two eggs over-medium, sausage patty’s, grits and toast. Gets it almost every visit. However, one day he came in and wanted something different. James knew it was Friday and that we would be serving fish for lunch. He asked his server if he could order fish for breakfast. But not with turnip greens and okra and hush puppies. He wanted it with creamy grits and his two over medium eggs.

Well folks, James was onto something. We took a picture of the dish and put it on our social media pages. It garnered a good bit of attention, and “The James” was born.

The James- A bowl of our hot, creamy grits, topped with two farm fresh eggs and our delicious fried catfish (if you want it completely authentic, James enjoys a few dashes of Louisiana hot sauce on top 😉)
